More Success for Stevie Face in the UK

Reggae crooner Stevie Face continues to enjoy more success on his journey to greatness. He recently cracked the top ten of London’s Choice FM reggae chart with a remake of Mike and the Mechanics smash hit In The Living Years. This single is the latest from his successful sophomore album Tell It Like It Is, which was produced by Paul ‘Computer Paul’ Henton of Boot Camp Records. In The Living Years has also registered on several other reggae charts both across the globe.

The singer who was out of action for a while due to injuries he sustained in a car accident while on tour in the US a few years ago, made his return to the local music scene a little over a year ago. Since then his career has enjoyed new levels of success under the guidance of ‘Computer Paul’ who is responsible for the production of several of his hit songs including Tell It Like It Is, I Wanna Wake Up With You and In The Living Years.

Unlike many of the current popular Jamaican artists Stevie Face has chosen to stick with the traditional one drop reggae sound, which brought reggae greats such as Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown and many others international acclaim. This choice has proven to be a very wise one as his easy on the ear brand of reggae has earned him many fans across the Caribbean, the US, Japan, Europe and the UK.

Without a doubt Stevie’s biggest fan base outside of Jamaica is in England, where he is highly rated. With many reggae fans and radio DJs in England hailing him as the new king of lovers rock, Stevie Face has become a bonafide reggae star in that country in a very short period of time. However the laid back singer who delivered a fantastic performance at the Brixton 02 Academy in London, two Saturdays ago says he is not about to make success get to his head.

“Right now I am enjoying a good run, since I began working with Computer Paul and I am very grateful for this success. Stevie Face is a very humble individual and I will remain that way no matter how many hit songs I make. I don’t make my success go to my head, I use it as motivation to work harder and strive for even more success”, said the singer who originally hails from the parish of St. Thomas.

After his impressive appearance at the 02 on the Uprising Reggae Festival along which also reggae stalwarts such as Barrington Levy, Freddie McGregor and Coco Tea, Stevie Face presented an award on stage by the MC on behalf of the promoters of the event, naming him as the Reggae Artist Of The Year for 2009.
