Dubkore Finally Reaping Success in the Music Biz

It’s been a long musical journey for Spanish Town based roots reggae artist Colin Llewellyn aka Dubkore. The singer who is also a classically trained pianist is finally enjoying some much deserved success in the local music biz, after years of toiling. He recently cracked the top ten of the RETV Top Twenty Reggae Chart with his hit single Little Love Story, where it peaked at number seven.

Since embarking on his musical journey over a decade ago, Dubkore has been making what he describes as good roots music. However Dubkore’s music found favor with music lovers in the US long before he even began to get airplay in Jamaica. This is not something strange since traditional reggae music is more popular beyond our shores and is widely appreciated in territories such as the US, Europe, Africa and the UK. Over the last few years Dubkore and his Pick It Up band has thrilled reggae music fans in the US at major music festivals such as Bay Fest in Mobile, Alabama, Cutting Edge Music Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana and Red River Revel in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dubkore will be leaving the island in a few weeks time; he will be going to the US for two shows. The first one will be at the Dub Club in Los Angeles on the 4th of August. After that event three days later he will perform at the Caribbean Cricket Club’s, 1st annual Caribbean Day Celebrations at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, California on the 7th of August.

Dubkore is also preparing to step up the promotion for his latest single which is titled Same Routine. The single which also features talented upcoming female artist Empress Que has been receiving steady rotation since its release over a month ago. Dubkore and his management team will be shooting a video in support of the single that will be released before the end of August.
