Dubkore Set to Drop "Same Routine" Music Video

Roots reggae artiste Dubkore is set to release the music video for his latest single titled The Same Routine which also features new female artiste Empress Que. The talented singer/musician says that the story line of the video depicts the harsh realities of everyday ghetto living.

“I want the video to highlight the plight of the people in the ghetto. People in these depressed parts of our country live a life that’s totally different from what most other Jamaicans are accustomed to. This situation has been going on far too long and the people need a change they are tired of the same routine. They need a brighter and better tomorrow,” said the artist.

The video’s lead role is played by Dubkore’s long time associate and collaborator Mr. Goff, who plays the role of a blind man who is walking through the ghetto. However despite his blindness it seems he his able to see all that is happening around him and it’s not pretty. The video was shot last week end in the community of Big Lane in Central Village, Spanish Town under the guidance of ace music video director Asha McHail. It will be released before the end of the month.

Dubkore is currently in the US where he will be doing two shows; the first one will be at the Dub Club in Los Angeles on the 4th of August. After that event three days later he will perform at the Caribbean Cricket Club’s, 1st annual Caribbean Day Celebrations at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, California on the 7th of August.

I-Octane "No More" Will Move You to Tears

Fresh off a crowd conquering performance at Reggae Sumfest 2010, I Octane has wasted no time in heading back to the place he calls home, the studio to record yet another ode of lamentation, NO MORE.

Working once again with Dj Frass from XXX Productions with whom he found a winning combination with My Life, which has gained presence in the Top 2 of a number of respected charts, this next generation artiste has penned a rather pensive song.

Tired fi a weep and wail and seeing his friends blood splash in the streets, the deeply penetrating lyrics which addresses betrayal, death and plodding forward beyond the negativity which pervades the society; I Octane has mastered the art of roping his vocals around one's mind. His vocals filled with sincere pain will compel you to do some amount of introspection.

Laid on a haunting beat with backing vocals that ride the instruments like a professional surfer on a big wave NO MORE will move you to tears. Even if a music video is not done for this song, you will be able to visualize the agony and sufferation that is brought about by I Octane's expressed burden because it is a topic to which we can all relate.
