DJ Sunshine Continues to Brighten up the Music Industry!‏

Through her lyrics; DJ Sunshine continues to bright up the music industry!

DJ Sunshine does not plan to take her foot off the gas pedal while her music career continues to reach new heights.

The popular radio host, who recently celebrated her birthday, says she is more than happy with the direction her music has undertaken and remained adamant that complacency won’t creep in.

“I was supposed to be an architect,” said Sunshine, referring her bachelors degree in architecture that she achieved at the Miami-Dade Community College.

However, up on returning to Jamaica, the former St Andrew High School student was granted the opportunity of a lifetime. “I came back home and got an opportunity to be on radio and I took it. I figured, that was my true calling,” she said.

The IRIE diva, born Katrina Irons, has already won over many admirers since she released songs like A Doh Care Anymore, Nuh Let Me Go, Run Some Money and Nuh Yard, and she admits that there’s more to come in the form of Hotness, which is yet to be released.

Dj Sunshine reveals she has been hugely impressed by the response she has been getting for her music from the public, and was expectedly upbeat about her future as a recording artiste.

“What’s Next? I’m going to take this to the highest level and then move on to the movie industry. Maybe do both singing and acting,” she said.

The ever-smiling princess said she’s still puzzled as to how she consistently manages all her professional responsibilities successfully.

“How do I manage everything? I really don’t know but I do it. Get an early start each day and make sure that everything is done at the end of the day,” she said, while recognizing that it isn’t easy being a radio personality, Emcee, television- host, recording artiste, producer and an entrepreneur.

Dj Sunshine says she also enjoys being a music producer very much and pointed to Mavado’s Naa Naa Naa lyrical backlash of Vybz Kartel, as the first hit song she produced.

“Mavado was the one who gave me my first hit song as a producer.” she said.

DJ Sunshine produced her biggest rhythm in 2006 titled ‘After Dark’, which featured several top local artistes.
