Chuckle Berry Talks About His Music Career!

Reggae artiste Chuckle Berry believes his music career still has room for improvement, though he has been in the business for quite some time now and has performed on several big-stage events.

Berry, who recently recorded the single So Bad, for top rated music producers Sly and Robbie, is also brimming with anticipation ahead of the song’s video premiere next week.

“Well this new single I do for Sly and Robbie is getting a lot of airplay right now and it’s expected to do well. I also collaborated with Emma Stakes (London-based singer) for a song called Wild Kat, which has been tipped by all the top British disc jockeys to be a mega hit,” he said, while noting that there’s a video pending for the song.

The baritone voice singjay is also set to embark on a mini-Canadian tour which will see him performing on several events in Canada before the end of the month.

With his single Good Life, which was released last year, still creating a buzz Chuckle Berry said he’s pleased with how things are shaping out for his career in the near future.

“Me is a Rasta, so naturally mi ago always please whether or not things good. Good Life (also produced by Sly and Robbie) still gwaan good since it release last year, it go number one on several local and international charts,” he said.

Although he has been in the business for a number of years and has performed on major events both at home and abroad Chuckle Berry is yet to achieve significant recognition for his music locally. However, it is something he chooses not to worry about.

“If you look at Burning Spare, he never really got the recognition in Jamaica. Bob Marley got it after he died but it’s not anything I think about that seriously,” he said.
