Stevie Face Wows Fans At Rebel Salute 2011

The late start of Pepsi Rebel Salute 2011 due to the rain could not dampen the spirits of the thousands of patrons who turned out for the annual event. The event turned out to be highly successful and patrons were treated to some very fine performances. With the show running approximately two hours behind schedule, several performances were cut short due to the long lineup of artistes.

Undaunted by the circumstances reggae crooner Stevie Face went on stage at 5:30 am after a grand introduction by MC Ron Muschette and lit up Rebel Salute with popular numbers such as ‘Thank You For Loving Me’, ‘Tell It Like It Is’ and “In The Living Years’. Fans were singing along with delivery of every song, from start to finish and were very disappointed when Stevie left the stage, as they wanted to hear more from him.

One enthused female fan backstage said that Stevie’s performance was like a good “Quickie” short but sweet.

Junior X Delivers At Rebel Salute

Reggae singjay Junior X is determined to take his career to the next level and will let nothing stop him from achieving this goal. Not even being told that he would have to perform after dancehall music giant Mavado, at the recently held Pepsi Rebel Salute stage show could faze him.

Coming on stage after Mavado who delivered a masterful performance in the wee hours of the morning, Junior X proved why he is being hailed as the Prince of the Battlefield in local music circles. Delivering songs such as ‘Plead My Cause’, ‘The Pill’ and ‘Gangster Life’ he connected well with the huge Rebel Salute audience and earned several forwards before he exited the stage.

“It’s never easy to perform after a bigger act on any show, but when the stage manager told me that I would have to perform right after Mavado, it didn’t worry because I knew this was an opportunity for me to prove myself. So I just kept cool until it was my time and when my name was called, I went on stage with on intention and that was to please the people. Judging from the positive response I got, that goal was clearly achieved,” said the artiste.

Junior X is currently promoting the latest singles off his debut album ‘Soundtrack of Life’, these are ‘Look No Further’ which features Queen Ifrica, ‘Destiny’ and ‘Never Stop Trying’ which were both done in combination with Gyptian. The album is slated to be released in March through VP Records.
