While it has been a very long and hard journey for roots Reggae singer, Colin Lewlyn, he is steadfast on his mission as he seeks to break into the mainstream. The talented singer and musician, who released his debut album titled Little Love Story, is adamant that he will achieve this goal through musical excellence.

Last year was a very good year for Dubkore as he not only released his debut album, but also released singles such as 'Little Love Story' and 'Same Routine' which enjoyed good rotation both locally and abroad. Both singles were accompanied by music videos that also enjoyed good support on local television.

Dubkore is currently working on a Dub version of his debut album and is very optimistic that he will achieve greater success this year, as he continues to record good music and promote himself at home and abroad.

Bobby Tenna Goes ‘Way Back’‏

Breadfruit roasting on an open flame, and children playing marbles in the dirt and cricket in the street. These are some of the images to be seen in a new video, directed by Wayne Benjamin, for the song titled ‘Way Back’ by Bobby Tenna.

The track comes from his sophomore album, Words & Melody, which was released in September 2010

Bobby Tenna is a rising star, bringing a fresh new voice with powerful and uplifting messages. ‘Way Back’ contains a reference to his days in the church, where he was a member of the choir and had his passion for music ignited. In his teens, he was a member of an “a cappella” group in Montego Bay, not too far from his hometown of Orange District, Saint James. Tenna eventually carved out his niche as a cabaret singer in many of the top resorts across Jamaica.

In 2007, the singer, songwriter and producer released his first album called Give Thanx 4 Life on his very own Wilefiya Inc. Productions. The album contains 13 conscious tracks and is heavily rotated on radio stations around the world.

Karamanti And Higher Pursue Making Major Moves In Europe‏

Dancehall artist Karamanti, and reggae singer Higher Purse are both on heavy rotation on several European reggae radio shows. Both artists are coming off a successful year in 2010 and have started out 2011 with an intense marketing campaign in quite a few European countries.

Karamanti who has developed a reputation for being very controversial has approximately three songs in rotation on various stations in Europe. Namely, “nah bleach”, which deals with the subject of skin bleaching, “naah lef mi yaad”, which talks about her decision to return home to Jamaica after several years abroad, and “Bruce”, which is a message directed at the Prime Minister, Bruce Golding. While Higher Purses’ latest single from the Old School Riddim, “rub a dub” is getting a lot of love from European Disc Jockeys.

The two are slated for a four country European tour, which should kick off in March of this year. The tour will take them to Italy, Sweden, Spain and Switzerland. When asked why they are putting more emphasis on promotion in Europe as oppose to the Caribbean, they both state that they intend to amp up promotions here at home over the next few months. But because the European tour was in the works since the end of 2010, they thought it prudent to start promotion there first.

Third World Band Fans Journey For Patriots Album Launch‏

Considered the smallest of the three United States Virgin Islands, the nine miles long and three miles wide island of St. John was the setting for the launch of Third World's 23rd album, Patriots. Love City Live, a weeklong reggae festival that featured events across the island, hosted the album launch and full concert on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Winston Wells Ball Field. The festival, which was sponsored by Innovative, Kiss 101.3FM, Boyson and St, John Brewers also featured performances by Inner Visions Band,Melame Gange and The Blackstar Band.

The ten-time Grammy Nominated group arrived on the island earlier in the week to promote the album and attend events surrounding the launch. The rigorous promotion schedule began with an appearance at the Julius E. Sprains School, where Love City Live's organizer Glenn "Wasi" Philbert was once a student and has devoted time to giving back to the school since his return to the island.

Third World's Bass guitar player, Richard Daley, was happy to attend the school and speak to the student body about music and education. Daley remarks, "this was a great opportunity to speak to the students especially since it ties in well with the bands outreach efforts for 2011."

Thereafter the band was whisked away to the Natural Livity Culture Shop in St. Thomas, host of a "meet and greet" and autograph signing. Later that evening, back in St. John, Rhumb Lines Restaurant hosted a dinner soiree and listening party in the band's honor. Patrons and fans got to hear the new album and members of the band signed autographs and took pictures. The stage was set, everyone on the island - locals and tourists alike - were buzzing about the show. Ferries from neighboring islands, Tortola, St. Croix and St. Thomas, lined the docks in Cruz Bay.

With all the promotions done, it was Showtime. At 12:30 am, the chants of the band's name throughout the venue signaled the crowd's excitement to see the group perform. Stage lights, camera flashes and screams ushered the band members on stage. The venue came alive with the opening song Spirit Lives, a tribute to the people of Haiti that the band has been opening every one of their performances with for the past year. The band also performed hit singles such as 96 Degrees, Reggae Ambassadors, Committed, Forbidden Love, Sense of Purpose, Reggae Party and others. In honor of the late Gregory Isaacs, who is featured on the Patriots album, the group performed Isaacs' hits Rumors and Front Door.

Fans screamed the names of their favorite band member in between songs and many held up hard copies of the album that they purchased prior to the show, a clear sign of their dedication and support of the band. The high-energy performance of the band was contagious and the crowd danced and participated when lead singer Bunny Rugs asked everyone to "get something and wave."

At the end of their performance, Glenn "Wasi" Philbert accompanied by Inner Visions Band brought Third World back on stage. Inner Visions presented the group with a plaque in honor of their thirty-eight year contribution to reggae music. Cat Coore remarks, "To be recognized by another band is just amazing. We are always honored when we are acknowledged but more so when the acknowledgement comes from fellow musicians. I would be remised if I didn't say what a great job Wasi did in putting together this album launch. His team worked tirelessly to make sure everything went off without a hitch and so it did. Additionally, I also want to thank Dean Pond, who is our official sound engineer and co-producer of the album, for providing professional support to the production team throughout the night. Wow, we are continually amazed by the people who are in our corner. Thanks to all!"

After an encore performance, the group met with fans, signed autographs and took pictures - a seemingly perfect end to a perfect night.

Duane Stephenson Now On U.S.Tour With The Wailers

Duane Stephenson is currently on his fourth tour outing with reggae's legendary group The Wailers. Recent tours throughout South America and the U.S. have garnered a positive response with sold-out performances for this compelling songwriter and versatile singer.

Performing songs from his September 2010 VP Records release, BLACK GOLD, as well as songs from his debut album, From August Town (2007), Duane explains that he is "meeting many fans for the first time and these fans are a bit out of the scope of the traditional reggae market, working with The Wailers, and the support has been great so far."

Duane's introduction to The Wailers was through their work with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP). He was invited to write a song "A Step for Mankind" to support the WFP. Duane is currently working on a new song, of which the proceeds will benefit the WFP's largest global operation in Sudan.

In October 2010, Duane was invited by the WFP to honor of Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, at the The George McGovern Leadership Award Ceremony as part of his work to spread the message of the need for more action in addressing the issue of world hunger.

As for the scope of his contribution as a reggae artist and humanitarian, he explains: "What I am doing is part of a larger mandate. The more you can do to make the world a better place for everybody, it is really a pleasure to do the little bit that I am actually doing, the feeling is great. It is something worthwhile as there are not many of these opportunities left."

Don't miss Duane Stephenson while he is on tour throughout February and 2011!
