Dirty Crushh For Labor Day Weekend‏

The town of Negril is known for its beautiful beaches, elegant hotels and its laid back atmosphere. The resort town has experienced somewhat of a renaissance in the past few years, specifically in the party and entertainment sectors. At the forefront of this renaissance is a group of young and innovated promoters called The Sand Castle.

The Sand Castle was formed in 2009 by four lifelong friends Robert Porter, Kishan Stanley, Claude D'Aguilar and Kirk Douglas. Recognizing a need for premium party experiences locally the four decided to pool their knowledge and resources together to launch their first event Ka'ula Nights in July of 2009.

The event was a success on all fronts and received raving reviews from party goers (based primarily in Western Jamaica). The group wasted no time in introducing two more innovative and successful brands "Ultra Violet" and "Dirty Crushh" to the masses. The latter (Dirty Crushh) was singled out last year as the party of the year in Negril by numerous entertainment websites and satisfied patrons.

Dirty Crushh is an Ultra-Premium All Inclusive event, heavy emphasis is placed on the quality of the food, drinks and music and the promoters strive to have patrons leaving each event feeling satisfied with the overall party experience. The Sand Castle will be staging the second edition of Dirty Crushh this Labor Day weekend on Sunday May 22nd, at the Half Moon Beach in Negril. It will once again be an Ultra-Premium All inclusive event and is surely not one to be missed.

Scrap Metal Records A Dream Come True

Dreams can become reality, Scrap Metal Records owner and founder Ricardo Clarke is living proof of this. Growing up in Riverton city as a youth he was always drawn to music and would spend a lot of time listening to sound-systems and attending inner-city stage shows with his friends Omar Gardener aka Hummy Bling and Naul McLean aka Duh Duh Shanty.

“I grew up around music. In Riverton and surrounding areas there was always some kind of musical event going on, the music was everywhere. Naturally like most youngsters we grew up following the music. We would go all over the place to watch stage shows and listen to sound-systems.

That early exposure to music made a very strong impact on the lives of all three young men at a very early stage. While still attending high school Hummy Bling and Duh Duh Shanty decided to pursue music as a career and eventually began performing on community events. Impressed by his friends talent Ricardo Clark decided that he would one day be their producer and manager. However he knew that it would take some time and a lot of hard work to make this dream a reality.

“The music had such a strong influence on us, from early out Duh Duh and Hummy decided to become deejays and from that time I made up my mind that one day I would be the one to get them out there in the music world the real way. But the music business is hard and takes a lot of resources to achieve success, so I planned that I would work hard and wait until the right time to enter the biz” said Ricardo Clarke who also goes by the name Rickey Bling.

Now that he is a position to help his friends with their music career the young business man who is the CEO of Paramount Scrap and Recyling, has decided to launch his own record label Scrap Metal Records. He intends to use the label as a platform to push Duh Duh Shanty and Hummy Bling’s career.

Clarke recently released the first project on his label. This project is rhythm project called Badmind Rhythm that features three songs Clean Hands by Junior X, Distance by Duh Duh Shanty and Blood A Run by Hummy Bling. Since the release of the project a few weeks ago all three songs have been receiving steady airplay on top radio stations including IRIE FM, ZIP FM, FAME FM and HITZ 92 FM.

The Badmind rhythm was created by DJ Neil of Cash Flow Records.
