Tropical Bliss Set For Monteg Bay

With the summer party season about the kick off, Nuwave Entertainment, Danger Zone Music Group (DZMG), Tropical Beach and Bacardi have teamed up to create the ultimate summer beach party series dubbed Tropical Bliss. With 14 parties in 2 months, one venue, great musical vibes and 30 world famous Bacardi mixes the event has to be a hit. Tropical Bliss which promises to be unlike any other of its kind will run from June 4 to July 17 at Tropical Beach in Montego Bay.

Ronny White of Nuwave Entertainment says the event was long in coming and will fill a void in the entertainment calendar: “We saw this as an opportunity to tap into the party scene and provide one of the most sophisticated and hybrid events for the summer. This event is special because it will give patrons a variety; if you like hardcore dancehall there is an event for you, if you like the smooth all inclusive concept, we have it too”.

The series will feature various themed parties such as; Pink passion, Krunk N Drunk, Seaweed, Picture Perfect and Aftershock to enrich the day and night ambiance at Tropical Beach every Saturday and Sunday. The themes feature all inclusive beach events, colour/dress events, ladies night out and other seductive concepts that will encourage frolic, fun, and fantasies.

The musical accompaniment will feature some of the hottest selectors in the business right now such as: Black Chiney, Renaissance, Arif Cooper Collin Hines, Alric & Boyd, and Copper shot just to name a few.

Tropical Bliss will be a full package event. The promoters and organizers of the series have gone to great lengths to arrange very attractive packages of accommodation, travel and entertainment. Patrons will have the opportunity to experience this all inclusive series with a choice of monthly season bands, weekend armbands, or VIP armbands respectively.

When asked about the goal of the event, Delmar Drummond of DZMG revealed: “We are motivated to produce a very entertaining package. It is our intent to provide a safe, fun-filled atmosphere that everyone can enjoy”. With a guarantee such as this, there is no question where patrons need to be on June 4, 2011, and for the rest of the summer.

Tropical Bliss will launch off on June 4 with its first event at Tropical Beach in Montego Bay and continue on to July 17. The show will feature some of Jamaica’s hottest party selectors, all combined with the smooth mixes of Bacardi.

Markland Edwards Making Huge Strides

Popular radio broadcaster Markland Edwards said he believes it’s a combination of “hard work” and “effective planning” that has led to the rise of his radio program Action Tonight, which is aired every Monday-Friday at 8-11pm on Nationwide 90 FM. Edwards’ program has been receiving widespread praises for its entertainment package, which is an exciting fusion of music, entertainment news, features and listeners interaction, offered on a nightly basis.

Despite an influx of other entertainment programs to choose from, listeners are frequently tuning their ears to Edwards’ energy-filled broadcast, something that the 17-year media veteran has acknowledged gracefully. “It gives me great joy to make others happy and of course be of some kind of inspiration. Being on radio people always look forward to hearing things that will make their day, this is the opportunity I love the most.

“The guests we have on the show. The questions we asked, the music that the disc jockeys provide, and the vibe adds to the popularity of this program. We always try to have different concepts,” said Edwards, whose debut on radio began on Love FM on February 14, 1993.

Although Edwards’ journey in the entertainment world started out as a MC, it has been his ability to entertain unseen audiences that have seen him rise to notoriety. But Edwards, who also got baptized in 1987, admitted that his rise to fame began years on his first shot at MC.

“I have MC a lot of events both locally and internationally. They (my audience) get energy, creativity and wit from my performances. It’s always a good vibe, and I guess that is how my entertainment career really started,” he added.

Despite being a devoted Christian, the former St Catherine high student, has been hosting secular shows for the past two years. However, he stated that his religious beliefs have had limited impact on his career, as he’s able to differentiate the role of both.

“It’s a God-given talent or ability I would say. It’s not difficult for me to separate my personal conviction from my profession,” he said.

From a once shy-boy walking the streets of Old Braeton, in Portmore, Markland Edwards has so far defied the odds and overcome obstacles thrown at him, into a successful story that can only get better as time goes by.

“In the coming years I see myself going onto bigger and better things. There’s always room for growth, and development and I am open for that,” he said.
