Higher Purse Working On Debut Album‏

Higher Purse has been in the studio for the last few months compiling tracks for his debut album, which is still untitled. The reggae singer who is steady developing a loyal fan base thinks that it is important for him to position himself to take his career to the next level, and releasing a full-length album will do just that.

The album will feature productions from Red Boom of Hard At Work Music, Antonie McLean of Legendary Productions, Omar Benjamin of Frenz For Real Music and Buff who is the producer of Russcuttaz Music, Higher Purse’s own record company. Higher Purse is also working on getting collaborations with Karamanti, Natural Black and a few other artists, which he hopes to include on the album.

In addition to the popular single, “rub-a-dub”, Higher Purse has also recently released “bitter sweet love remix” and “tell me” as leading singles to the album. Below are links to listen to both tracks and disc jockeys are welcome to request their free copies.

An official release date for the album has not yet been determined but he hopes to have everything ready by late summer, acknowledging that it could be delayed until the fall.

As for the Poor Man Riddim, Russcuttaz Music’s follow up to the Old School Riddim, Higher Purse contends that this project will still be released some time in the summer.

I-Octane Performance at Sierra Nevada World Music Festival Cancelled

New York, N.Y - June 1, 2011- This serves to advise the public that despite popular opinion and present promotions, I-Octane will not be performing at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival on June 19th.

Though I-Octane had endorsed the show at some point, he was not aware of any negotiations for him to perform as he had not received any contract or deposit. Unknown to the artiste, negotiations had indeed been underway and a contract had been signed and a deposit received, but all this was done by a third party who does not represent I-Octane.

I-Octane's team did not become aware of these negotiations until last week. This third party has also negotiated for another music festival of which the artiste has no knowledge.

As soon as I-Octane's team was made aware of the situation, they contacted the promoter of the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival to try and rectify the situation. Unfortunately, they were unable to reach a mutually beneficial arrangement, and as a result, the artiste will not be a part of this year's staging of the event.

I-Octane wishes to inform all his fans that he has several more performances for the summer and he hopes to see them there. He would also like to advise promoters to beware of unscrupulous parties claiming to represent artistes.

I-Octane will travel to St. Croix and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, June 3rd and 4th to deliver two more energetic and unforgettable performances. While completing his 'My Life' tour, the hardworking singjay continues to dedicate much of his time to developing his craft and putting out music that will inspire, educate, and encourage his fans.
