Dubkore Making Music For The Soul‏

After a brief hiatus Dubrock reggae artiste Colin Llewellyn aka Dubkore is getting ready to continue his pursuit of success in the local music industry. While his journey in the music biz has been a hard one thus far, the Spanish Town based singer takes comfort in the fact that his music does not have a limited shelf life, because as he puts it “I am making music for the soul, music that will last forever.

Dubkore and his band, the Pikkie Head band has been doing numerous rehearsals over the last six months in preparation for series of upcoming gigs.

“Although I haven’t been very active in terms of performances and the promotion of my music for a little while now, I have been doing a lot of rehearsing as we are getting ready for the road. I feel now is the right time to take the Dubkore music to the people in full force both locally and globally,” said the artiste.

Dubkore is currently working hard in the recording studios as he prepares for the release of his sophomore album which should be ready for release early next year.

“Right now a lot of good things are happening, I am working of the follow to my debut album Arrogant Man and this new album will feature a lot of hard hitting and socially uplifting lyrics backed by some great sounds. To date we have recorded a number of tracks at the Tuff Gong Studio and things are sounding very great, we are also getting ready to release a new single really soon.”

Also in the works for Dubkore is a series of concerts that he will be producing next year that will feature him performing, alongside several other artistes.

NY Times Critically Acclaimed I-Octane 'Focus' Mixtape

Reggae artiste I-Octane continues to make waves both locally and internationally. This time, he makes his mark in Sunday, July 31st NY Times: Jon Carmanica's Playlist where his 'Focus' MixTape, mixed by Dev Kutta, is featured as a reinforcement of the steady rise to stard om bestowed on this young talented reggae artiste.

"Being featured in a newspaper such as the NY Times, has showcased me to a broader audience; an audience who majority of them never heard of I-Octane, is a huge step for me and my team, and we look forward to more accomplishments; Dev 'Kutta' Focus" says I-Octane.

Jon Carmanica discusses the versatile mix Dev Kutta, of Livity Movements, used to highlight the diverse musical talent of I-Octane. According to Jon Carmanica the 'Focus' mixtape showcased I-Octane over caustic and punchy rhythms to some of his recent hits like 'Puff It' and 'Nuh Ramp With Mi'.

The feature also highlighted a soon to be released single, 'Crime A Rise' produced by Garry G of 'Uniiqe Impact Productions', which showcase a new sound of I-Octane.

Mighty Mystic Set To Debut New Single & Music Video

East coast based reggae artist Mighty Mystic announced today that he will release his highly anticipated music video & single, entitled “Original Love,” worldwide on Tuesday September 6, 2011. “Original Love” is the latest single from Mighty Mystic, since the release of his debut, full-length album “Wake Up the World,” on November 24, 2010. Considered one of the leaders in the East Coast reggae movement, Mighty Mystic’s album “Wake Up the World” peaked at #4 on the iTunes Reggae Charts, and features 17 brand new, original tracks mixed with fan favorites.

Mighty Mystic shares, “The single ‘Original Love’ is basically about taking a journey in search of the true meaning of love, which in this sense is something unconventional. Love is something that each person can feel but can’t really explain in words.

Part of the song showcases that the people of the world can be corrupt and selfish and that even love has lost its way; that it’s really up to us as human beings to make our own crusade to find love again. I think this song has a wonderful message about love, and I truly hope that the audience will feel inspired by it and are able to take something from it – even if it’s as simple as remembering to say ‘hi’ and ‘bye’ to your neighbors.”

While working on new music, Mighty Mystic will continue to tour and perform nationwide as he records his sophomore, full-length album – anticipated to be released in late 2012. Mighty Mystic has shared the stage with some of the top reggae acts in the United States and Internationally as well, including: Reggae legend Toots & The Maytals, SOJA, Luciano, Steel Pulse, Damien Marley, Barrington Levy, Buju Banton, Shaggy, Collie Buddz, Sean Paul, Dirty Heads, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, John Brown’s Body, to name a few.

“Original Love” will be available for purchase wherever digital downloads are sold and is distributed through BFM Media.
