Don Sniper Excited Over "Get That Money"‏

S-Quire Entertainment recording artist Don Sniper is getting ready to drop his first single since signing his multi-album record deal with the US based independent record label. The track which was done in tandem with S-Quire Entertainment boss Lucci Gabana is titled Get That Money.

“I am really excited about this single, it’s the first one since signing with the label and I expect lots of good things to happen for it. I know my label is going to do all they can to promote it,” said the artist.

According to Don Sniper while recognizing the fact that he is a dancehall artist, his label wants to break him into the international Hip Hop market. Therefore the label is producing a lot of hip hop flavored songs with him of which Get That Money will be the first to be released.

“My label wants to break me into the Hip Hop market; they think my style blends in easily with Hip Hop music, so I am doing a good amount of tunes for that market. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be dropping dancehall tracks, my album is gonna feature a lot of dancehall songs too.”

S-Quire Entertainment CEO Alwin Squire aka Lucci Gabana also has high hopes for the single. “My whole team and I are very excited about this single we think it has a lot of potential to blow up all over the place.

I really think its gonna do well in Jamaica, the US , Canada and lots of other places because of the mixture of styles that are featured on this track, its dancehall and Hip hop done in the best possible way, the streets and the radio stations are gonna love it, its a definite club banger,” said Lucci Gabana.Get That Money will be released on Itunes before the end of this month.

Dubkore Looks Forward to A Bright 2012‏

Roots Reggae singer Colin Lewlyn aka Dubkore is looking forward to a bright new year. He has big plans for the upcoming year and anticipates great success in 2012.

Included in his plans are the official launch of his debut album, Arrogant Man and the staging of a monthly concert series that will feature him and his band as well as other artists.

“I am looking forward to 2012 with great anticipation; I expect it to be a great year musically and otherwise not just for myself but for others as well. The world and everything about it is changing so rapidly and people all over the world need something to keep their minds steady and reggae music is the right medicine to uplift their minds, that’s why I am going to launch my album in 2012, although it was released a while back, I really feel next year will be the right time to push it,” said the artist.

Realizing the difficulty in getting exposure for his type of music on radio in Jamaica, Dubkore like so many other Roots Reggae acts has been performing a lot on the live show scene in order to promote his music. Over the last two years he has done quite a number of performances in Negril, Kingston, Spanish Town and Portmore as well as other parts of the island.

“Roots music does not get the kind of support certain other forms of music get on radio in Jamaica; the main way to promote it is through live performances, so I have been doing a lot of performances across the country. For the last couple of months or so my band and I have been a part of the Conscious Reggae Party series that has been going on in Kingston and it has brought us a great deal of exposure. “

Dubkore also said that he plans to release a number of new singles in 2012 in order to build his fan base locally. “Apart from the launching on my album and the production of the concert series, I will be doing a lot of other things to promote my music. I also plan to release more singles next year, because we have been recording lots of new songs over the past six months or so. The fans can definitely look out for a lot of new music from Dubkore in 2012,” said the artist.

KC Jockey Looks for "A Better Jamaica"

Karl-Marx Waite of Sweet Sadie's Records announced the release of KC Jockey's new track, "A Better Jamaica." The track is a tribute to the artist's homeland, and one that he hopes will be an anthem for better days ahead. "A Better Jamaica" can be downloaded from KC Jockey's website free of charge, as it is his present to the people of Jamaica and all who love his beautiful country.

According to the CIA World Facebook, "Jamaica is currently plagued with high crime rates and corruption, large scale unemployment and under employment, and the 4th highest debt burden per capita in the world." Other sources state, "The total life expectancy for Jamaicans has been declining since at least 2004, at which time it was 76. The rate of violence is particularly high in Kingston, and spreading to other areas.

That issue is beginning to affect tourism, which accounts for one fifth of Jamaica's GDP with $4 billion/year in revenues." And with the upcoming election, the situation may become even worse.

KC Jockey's "A Better Jamaica" is a promotional track, and a smooth groove of a song that has depth and meaning. This song will be added to the artist's album, which will be released soon, and will include an uplifting new version of the previous "Waiting In Vain" track, which was done by Bob Marley. The mid-tempo reggae single is infused with a just a hint of R&B and soul, and bursting with the hope for a new day in KC Jockey's much loved homeland of Jamaica, one without violence, poverty, and hunger. "A Better Jamaica" is a very likeable song that fulfills its purpose of fueling oneness, peace, and love for and between all Jamaicans.

KC Jockey has a wonderful voice that greatly accentuates the message of "A Better Jamaica," which is both musically and lyrically strong. The artist seems to be very much driven by causes near and dear to his heart, as his release prior to this one, "Girl, You're Free," addressed domestic violence. "Girl, You're Free," released on August 27th, has been #1 on WXAC 91.3's Urban Charts for a total of 8 weeks, and is still enjoying rotation on other stations. The video will be shot in Atlanta for the
new year.

KC Jockey attributes the success of his music to his unique style of combining Pop, R&B, hip-hop and reggae, with topics that will have meaning and relevance for a lifetime.

"The music I make is timeless and significant, and it's for all ages to listen to. It's deep, and when you have a good sound and a good message, people are drawn to it. Jamaica is my homeland. It's a beautiful place where people from other countries come to relax and enjoy the exquisiteness of it in every sense. It's time now for Jamaicans to be able to embrace each other as the brothers and sisters that we are, and enjoy the country for ourselves, without fear, pain, or violence. We, as a people, will overcome our present circumstances, and we will be better for it in the end. That is the Jamaica that I know and love."

Jimbolee Born to Sing‏

Like most young boys growing up in Jamaica, reggae artist Jimbolee had to attend church every Sunday. The talented young man who hails from the community of Exchange in Ochi Rios, St. Ann, attended the Exchange Pentecostal Church every Sunday with his aunt until he moved to live in Curacao at the age of seventeen.

During those early years in church he developed a strong love for singing and by the time he was eight years old he was singing in church and at community events. Jimbolee continued singing throughout his days at Exchange All Age School and Ochi Rios High School.

“Singing is like breathing air to me, it’s a natural thing for me, I have been singing since I was eight years old, it all started in church, since then I have never stopped. I love music too much to every stop singing, I was born to sing,” said the artist whose real name is Philip Wilmot.

By the time he migrated to Curacao in 1997 Jimbolee was brimming with a strong desire to become a star. He found work, singing as the lead singer with a band called Lion at the I Karamba CafĂ© in Otobande, Curacao. After a five year stint with the band, he recorded his solo debut album titled Hard To Love, this was followed by another album titled E’Muraya, all the songs on that album were recorded in Papiamentu which is the native language of Cauracao.

The release of his second album placed him in the spotlight in Curacao; it spawned a number of popular tracks and placed the name Jimbolee on the lips of music lovers all over Curacao. Despite this success, he yearned for a greater musical breakthrough in music, so without any hesitation he came back home in 2009.

“Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Beres Hammond are the artists who inspire me the most and I want to walk in their footsteps and I know that if I am going to do that, I have to make my name at home and then take my music to the global market. The only way to do that is to work hard and establish myself on the local music scene.”

Upon returning to Jamaica Jimbolee set up his Jlee productions label and studio in Ochi Rios, to date he has recorded and released two albums, Spanish Love (2009) and Mixed Feelings which was released in November of this year, both albums are available on Itunes.

Jimbolee is currently enjoying strong rotation with singles such as Spanish Love (from the album of the same name) and I Wish, Just The Way You Are and I Was There, all taken from the Mixed Feelings album.

He recently landed in the number one position on New York based Matureradio.com with I Wish; it has held that position for the last three weeks.
