Yanique Designs Her Way‏

Host of Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall the Curvaceous diva Yanique recently showed that hosting is not her only talent as she also has an eye for fashion.

Over the past few weeks fans Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall might have noticed that Yanique was wearing her own design. This came about after the show’s executive producer Mark Kenny realized Yanique’s eye for fashion while she was doing the audition shows earlier this year.

“I have always has a knack for fashion and always loved dressing up and I also styled myself for the audition shows and mark Kenny noting that gave me the opportunity to design some outfits for the live shows. It has been a very exciting experience and I have had a chance to experiment with various styles and colours” says the rising media starlet.

“I styled myself for four shows and the response from the fans has been great many people have approached me after the show to ask if I can do designs for them. It seems that this is taking on a life of its own”.

While not planning to go into design fulltime Yanique says it’s a field that she will be paying more attention to but currently is satisfied with her double roles as radio host on Fame FM and host of Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall. Known as the event that paints the streets of Kingston, Bacchanal Jouvert holds the “paint can't done” record over all other Jouverts, leading paint covered, rum-toting revellers through the streets of New Kingston. This year the route from the new Mas Camp is a bit longer, ensuring that revellers have plenty time to get on bad in the streets, enjoying the last hurrah before Carnival, until the wee hours of the early morning!

“We are excited about the entire carnival, and Jouvert is the last bit of carnival before Road March, so we decided to give our patrons a good send off by sponsoring Jouvert.” said Cecil Smith, Marketing Manager, Wray and Nephew Rums.

Appleton, who has been a regular sponsor of Jouvert in the past, promises patrons that they will enjoy their night to the last drop, with their regular Appleton Mug Madness as well as giveaways of one free Appleton drink plus a mug to party with for the first 250 persons. But that isn't all they have up their sleeves, patrons have to come out to see what else Appleton has in store.

“Well that's a secret right now. We might have something big, be but we don't want to release any information right now.” smiled Jared Samuel, Brand Assistant for Appleton Jamaica Rum.

Tickets for the ultimate Dutty Mas start at $2000 presold and $2500 at the gate for general entrance. But for patrons who want to be a bit closer to the stage and enjoy a night inclusive of food and premium top shelf Wray and Nephew liquor, VIP ticket prices go from $4000 presold to $4500 at the gate. Ticket Outlets for Bacchanal Jouvert are the: New Mas Camp, Ammar's, (Village, King St. and Sovereign) L.G. Service Centre and Megamart (Portmore and Waterloo Rd.)
