Reggae Grass Roots Volume 1 Is Chockful Of Treats

In a rare exhibition of substance over style the various artistes compilation Reggae Grass Roots Volume 1 from Donsome Records continues a trend of deliciously appetizing treats waiting to be consumed by lovers of good music.

While the majority of today’s music seems to focus more on hype rather than substance, Reggae Grass Roots Vol 1 showcases keepsake melodies and vocal prowess

Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson and his musical partner Shady teamed up to produce the Reggae Grass Roots compilation which is expected to become an annual series.

‘I wanted to do an album that is full of roots, real grass roots music, with positive messages. So while I was putting the tracks together, I kept saying this is real reggae grass roots messages and by the time we finished the album, we stuck with the theme”, Hanson explained in a release to the media.

Securing the artistes for involvement in the project wasn’t a tedious task as the producer was already familiar with most of the collaborators from a previous project.

Feedback to the project has been nothing short of overwhelming. “It’s hard to single out a one song because the feedback is so great. The reaction from real lovers of roots and reggae music have indicated that this is a nice reggae roots vibes for the summer”, said Hanson.

Comparing his latest project with his previous work, the producer pointed out that Reggae Grass Roots Vol. 1 is evidence that his work as a producer keeps getting better as time goes by.

Featured on the Reggae Grass Roots Vol. 1 compilation are Tek Away by Erasto; Famine and Drought by I Wayne, What a Whoa by Lutan Fyah; Da Truth by Ce’Cile; Jah Will See Us Thru by Ancient; Speedy by Jah Mason; Put it Away by Sizzla; Lost our Way by I Octane; Tired of Sleeping in the Rain by Anthony B; We Trade by Miss Diva; Black Seeds by Perfect; Time by Turbulence; Holding Down by Rage featuring Lukie D; Pull Your Kotch by Jack Radics; Guide and Protect by Ginjah; Yardie by Lukie D featuring Busy Signal; No Matter Dem by Jimmy Riley featuring Kush Riley; and Man a Yaad by Jigsy King featuring Tony Curtis.

It's A Summer Of "Krazy Love" For Da'Ville

Almost at the completion of his successful tour of Germany, where he continues to woo his fans and represent Jamaica with his fusion of reggae pop songs.

Da'Ville, an ambassador of Jamaica's reggae culture, is getting ready to unleash his eagerly anticipated album entitled "Krazy Love".

Released on the Fashozy label, an imprint owned by the singer, "Krazy Love" is the third full length studio album from the artiste and comes on the heels of a well received mixtape,"Vitamin D", which was released on May 22. Da'Ville notes that "Vitamin D" was just one part of the prescription to heal his fans, and "everything comes full circle this summer withKrazy Love."

He emphasized, "Please note that it's crazy with a capital 'K' and there's a good reason for that."

"Krazy Love", which features the chart busters Took A Break, Your Swag, When I'm With You, Thug Like Me and You Got Di Ting, is set for digital release on June 19th and will be distributed by international company, Zojak. DaVille will be right in the midst of the fireworks with this album, as the physical copy will be released on the fourth of July, traditionally celebrated as Independence Day in the United States with a fireworks display that is unmatched.

The internationally known lover's rock singer knows well that Krazy Love will ignite more than a few sparks and rekindle the fiery passion for reggae music. "Reggae music has always had its market and we need to take control of these markets and stamp our dominance. The time for playing is over.

We have so much talent in the industry but we are still not getting out as many albums as we should and we are not pushing them as we should. No wonder the Billboard Reggae Album Chart is usually dominated by artistes who are not even from Jamaica. We know that reggae music is our islands' gift to the world, but at the same time we need to cherish and protect what is ours," Da'Ville declared.

Da'Ville's debut album entitled In "Heaven", helped to establish the singer's solo career, and by the time he released "Always On My Mind", Da'Ville was indeed a force to be reckoned with on the international reggae scene. Da'Ville returns with nothing but "Krazy Love". The album will be distributed by Tads Records.

Cole Phoenix Releases First Single, "Falling For You,"

Australian-born singer, songwriter and actress Cole Phoenix is set to take the pop world by storm with a new single and new album on deck. Poised to release her self-titled debut album worldwide this month, the talented songstress first dishes out her official single, "Falling For You," a pop/rock Cole Phoenix-original featuring upbeat piano and percussion rhythms fused with intense strings and synthesizers.

"'Falling For You' is an empowering song about waking up and smelling the roses in a bad relationship," reveals Phoenix. "It shows that as time is going by, the seasons are passing and the relationship corresponds to the seasonal pattern. Sometimes hot, sometimes cold...ultimately abusive. It's a comment on bad relationships in general and standing up against abuse."

Phoenix says the upcoming video for "Falling For You" is going to be an interesting take on abusive relationships through metaphoric imagery, and she cannot wait to co-direct it. "I love bringing concepts to screen, visions to 'reel-ality.' Music and film are both passions of mine and combining them is exciting." She hopes for this to be the first of many videos to emerge from her upcoming album.

The album has quite a dynamic range, from jazz numbers to pop rock tracks. "My musical taste is eclectic and I wanted to reflect that," discloses Phoenix. "I also wanted to bring out an album people can relate to at different stages in life, and connect with from different emotional levels." Showcasing fun, flippant tracks such as "Cougar," romantic ballads like "You Complete Me," tearjerkers with "Cigarette Love," and even a disco vibe anthem against bullying with "Cannibal," Phoenix clearly encompasses a vast emotional spectrum on the album.

Cole Phoenix, the self- titled debut commercial album, will be available in stores and online on July 24, 2012, so get ready for a collection of refreshingly classy gems from this cool yet elegant artist, come this summer.
