New Single Out This Week Morgan Heritage "Perfect Love Song"

It is not by self imposed accolades that Morgan Heritage are referred to as "Reggae Royalty," but rather from music lovers around the world who recognize their rich musical heritage and gift to the genre. From playing major festivals to sold out crowds across the United States, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean to consistently creating chart-topping international hits, Morgan Heritage have cemented their name and stake in this industry.

2012 saw Morgan Heritage reconnect with their fans as the band embarked on their long awaited "The Return" tour and released their latest EP carrying the same name. Morgan Heritage are now putting the finishing touches on their brand new studio album Here Come The Kings, slated for release later this year on VP Records.

Fans can get a taste of what is to come with their latest single "Perfect Love Song," released this week on iTunes. The fun loving song is written by Morgan Heritage and produced by Linton “TJ” White, Andrew Myrie and Morgan Heritage.

As an added bonus, fans will be delighted to hear Gramps deejaying on his verse for the first time on a Morgan Heritage song in over 10 years. "The story behind 'Perfect Love Song' is about a person realizing that the one he or she loves makes them feel beyond good, beyond great. Instead, the person makes them feel heavenly," states lead vocalist Peetah Morgan. "A perfect love song to me is something that goes beyond the bedroom. It's a song that can apply to love universally," adds percussionist Mojo Morgan. Preparations for the official video are underway and will be shot on location in Miami Beach, Florida.

Vybz Kartel Give Back To The Youths

In celebration of Vybz Kartel’s recent Youth View Award, Ghetto People Publishing, a Division of Whirlwind Entertainment; has gone ahead with plans that they had made with Vybz Kartel nearly two years ago to start a Scholarship program beginning in Kartel’s hometown of Portmore and then extend the effort through the “inner-cities” of Jamaica. “Firstly, I want to make it absolutely clear that we DO NOT want any contributions from anyone.

While it is appreciated, we do not want anyone to turn Kartel’s positive work into negative accusations – all funding will come from the sale of the books or out of our pockets. Secondly, this is something Addi and I wanted to do whilst writing the book but things have obviously been on hold. I haven’t visited Addi since the award but I am sure he would agree that this is the right timing and we won’t wait any longer. The youths of Jamaica have given him this award and I know he wants to give back,” explained Kartel’s co-author and business partner Michael Dawson.

A committee will be appointed to go through the details but Dawson mentioned that Kartel always lamented about youths he knew in Portmore that passed their GSAT but had a hard time finding the money to facilitate their high school entrance. Therefore, to get it started, they will fund the book lists, auxiliary fees, uniform allowance, stipend and other incidentals for at least one young male and female successful candidate in the GSAT for the upcoming school year.

They plan to expand the program and hope that one day not one child in Jamaica will not be afforded an education due to lack of funds. Kartel continues to maintain his prominence in youth causes even though behind bars. A song recently released by So Unique Records featuring him and Gaza Slim is blowing up on social media.

His book is referred to in many reviews as a “cry out for Jamaica’s youths” – one Florida newspaper Editorial compared his book to a piece written during the French Revolution defending the poor, and his soon to be released CD from the book “Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto,” will be the first CD of its kind with a special message to the youths.

Ghetto Youth Tribulations, Poor People Land and Struggling are some of Vybz Kartel songs dedicated to the poor that cannot seem to get airplay. Dawson stated it’s a similar situation with the book.

While it’s gotten worldwide reviews from Europe to Australia to Africa, Jamaican journalists are afraid of it because they cannot “knock” the book the way they do everything else from Vybz Kartel so they just don’t say anything. To quote Dr. Garth Rose writing in a US based newspaper, “Some may not like the lyrics of Kartel's music, but there are serious social messages in The Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto.”

Tommy Lee Sparta Explains New Song Spartan Angels

Tommy Lee Sparta shows the world another side of him with his, Spartan Angel character. Many view the artiste as “the Jamaican demonic MC” or a “dancehall antichrist” today he exposes a whole new perspective, that’s completely contrary to the branded persona. With the release of Spartan Angels the artiste settles the score by releasing pent-up thoughts deriving from the responses to last year’s hit, Uncle Demon (Shook).

The lyrics, which, are written by Tommy Lee Sparta, delves into issues such as the influence his music has on the youths and society at large. The artiste sings, “Some a say mi bless some a say mi curse, God forgive me, if a me alone sin a earth”. The track is very deep; it’s a mix of soul, rock and dancehall that evokes feelings of darkness and light, happiness and pain.

According to the artiste, Spartan Angels, is very special to him and it expresses, the agony it brings for being misunderstood, the ache he experiences for being blamed for things extraneous to him. “Anytime mi talk them blame it on mi words, say mi words powerful and it will make the place curse...mi cant believe mi become a main source of a pain”.

He continues “System forgive me, Set me free, Time for the demons dwell, Send for the angels and fly away peacefully”. The song introduces singer, Tabeta Cshae who is one of his three Spartan Angels. She belts high notes and brings an international flavor to the project. “I feel elated to do a recording with him (Tommy Lee Sparta) He’s a rare talent.

It feels awesome as he does very few collaborations, plus I am the first female artiste to sing alongside him,” Tabeta Cshae said. Andrew “Anju Blaxx” Myrie of UIM Records produced the song. 21st Hapilos will release the deluxe version of the single via iTunes next Tuesday, February 12th 2013.
