Mavado Makes History as First Caribbean Artist to Get Billboard Video Premiere with "Take It"


Dancehall Star is First Caribbean Artist to Receive an Exclusive Billboard Video Premiere. Dancehall star David "Mavado" Brooks makes history as the first Caribbean artist to receive an exclusive video premiere on Billboard, with his new single "Take It" featuring Karian Sang. Distributed by Zojak World Wide and produced by Troyton Music, the blockbuster dancehall pop single debuted back in September and has been steadily gaining momentum on the international market, peaking at #1 on the BBC 1Xtra and Choice-FM charts in December, and also hitting #1 on CHRY 105.5FM in Toronto.

The track also steams up airwaves in South Florida on Miami's hit station WEDR-99Jamz, and continues to enjoy airplay on reggae specialty programming, globally. "Zojak World Wide/Troyton Music utilized top tier radio DJ pools to get the track played in major markets," states Zoe Espitia, CEO of Zojak World Wide. "The company also secured radio interviews with commercial stations in the US and Canada, and enlisted Rhona Fox of Fox Fuse as the PR for the video."

Signed to We The Best/YMCMB, Mavado continues to thrill dancehall fans by staying true to the genre, despite his evolving move beyond dancehall borders. "Now aligned with a powerful hip-hop conglomerate, Mavado nonetheless has pledged allegiance to the music that birthed his career," writes Billboard journalist Patricia Meschino, in the exclusive premiere on March 4, 2013. "Take It" was released internationally by Zojak World Wide and is available on iTunes and all major e-tailers worldwide.

Roots Queen Making Major Moves In Jamaica


German based Reggae/Dancehall artist, Roots Queen, have been back on the island for the past six months putting the finishing touches on her album and promoting its first single, “feeling free (landlord)”. The artist has been engaged in a nationwide media tour which saw her featured on one of Jamaica’s top entertainment networks, Reggae Television.

Roots Queen is now getting ready to return to Germany where she will be carrying out a similar media tour there. She intends to return to Jamaica in the summer to focus on promoting the entire album.

Aphtanan Releases Music Video for “Never Will Give Up


Trinidad and Tobago’s native and Canadian Reggae artist, Aphtanan released his music video “Never Will Give Up” early this morning.

The upcoming Reggae act has been working hard locally to achieve his dreams at spreading a positive message through his music, with performances at top Jamaican/Reggae based festivals here in Montreal such as Jamaica Day and Montreal’s International Reggae Festival.

With the new music video Aphtanan is hoping to reach the international massive. This is the first song to be released off his upcoming album “Dann In The Vann”. The song expresses the corruption amongst the “so-called” leaders, neglecting and misleading the youths. The upcoming artist continues working on his new album while promoting the new music video.
