Bunji Garlin Wins HOT 97 Battle of the Bands Last Week


BUNJI GARLIN’S LATEST ANTHEM “DIFFERENTOLOGY” CONTINUES TO MAKE A SPLASH BEYOND THE CARIBBEAN AND GAIN NATIONAL ATTENTION IN U.S. 

The Song Wins NYC’s HOT 97 FM’s Battle of the Beats Last Week, Earns Nomination for 2013 Soul Train Awards and Unleashes New Video for Major Lazer Remix Soca sensation Bunji Garlin, who is slated to release his new studio album Differentology on VP Records early next year, has already established the title track as the biggest hit of the 2013 Caribbean Carnival season.

The single, which has garnered an accumulation of over a million YouTube views since its February 2013 release, continues to make major moves in the United States.

Last week, the Trinidadian vocalist was declared the reigning champion on NYC’s HOT 97 FM’s Battle of The Beats competition.


The winner will be announced at this year’s prestigious award’s ceremony, which will be held in Las Vegas, NV on November 8th and airs nationwide on December 1st. Other nominees in this category include Machel Montano, Emeli Sande, P-Square and Iyanya. 

The genre-bending song also caught the attention of DJ supergroup Major Lazer, who immediately jumped on the remix. In addition to the song’s colorful eye-popping music video directed by Nigel Thompson, a brand new video for this remix has emerged and helped fuel the buzz to a crossover audience.

"Ends Nah Meet," is the CONCACAF Women's Under-17 Theme Song


Morgan Heritage's latest single "Ends Nah Meet," which is currently number #1 on Jamaica's CVM TV Hit List, has been selected as the official theme song for the CONCACAF Women's Under-17 Championship, following Jamaica's last leg of FIFA's World Cup Trophy Tour.

"Ends Nah Meet" off their most recent album Here Come The Kings has been playing at all the CONCACAF Women's Under-17 soccer events.

The eight countries in the tournament are Jamaica, Haiti, El Salvador, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Canada and Mexico. IRIE FM is the exclusive radio partner for the tournament in Jamaica and is currently running a nationwide promotion for the single until early November.

As avid football (soccer) fans, it is always an honor to be apart of any campaign that brings together the world's of music and sports.
