Stylo G (@Stylog) Takes Home A MOBO Award


England’s Dancehall act, Stylo G, won the Best Reggae Act Award at the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards last night. Earlier this year the Jamaica native joined fellow top Dancehall artists such as Jah Vinci, RDX and Tiana and released a single off Hitmaker Muzik’s “Skin To Skin” Riddim.

Stylo G’s single “Come Inna Mi Room” rapidly became a fan favourite and continues to receive a great amount of radio rotation in Jamaica and the U.K.

Kedon “Hitmaker” Whyte, owner of the Hitmaker Muzik Label expresses his happiness for his fellow artist, “This is a great look for the Dancehall fraternity and I would like to send out a big congrats on behalf of the label and the #HitGang family.” Hitmaker continues to push the singles off of the “Skin To Skin” riddim after spending the last 3 months in the U.S and Canada working on the releases promotional campaign. 

While away the multi-faceted artist/producer has also put together a music video for his own single off the riddim “Body Calling” which will be released mid-november on Vevo. As for the near future, Hitmaker, has a few projects underway, just the other day we saw him on Instagram giving his fans a little teaser of upcoming riddim “Intercourse” featuring himself and Kalado.

Orisha Sound (@Orishasound) Set to Release 1 Reggae


International recording artiste Orisha Sound is getting ready to release her first full length Reggae project. The album which is titled 1 Reggae will be released on ITunes on the 28th of October.

1 Reggae will feature 11 tracks including Orisha’s hit singles World War 3 ft. Beenie Man, Embrace it ft. Sizzla and Sunshine Lady Ft. Wayne Daniel.

Orisha is confident that the album will do well both locally and abroad. “I believe my album will be a success, it has something for everyone. It’s a very good album, the production is very strong.

It has the potential to appeal to music lovers worldwide. We’ve put a lot of hard work into this project to make it a success,” she said.  

Orisha recently shot music videos for the remix of Embrace It and her hardcore Dancehall single Black Coffee, which is currently enjoying heavy rotation on US Top 40 and urban radio stations. “We’ve just wrapped up the shooting of the videos for the Embrace It remix and Black Coffee. We did both videos in Port Royal over a one day period, it was a lot of hard work but I had a lot of fun working on this project with my dancers and the whole Black & Yellow Entertainment crew.” 

Both videos are currently being edited and should be ready for release in December. Orisha is scheduled to leave the island on the 25t of this month for a month long promotional tour of Europe in support of 1 Reggae. After the completion of the European tour she will head to the US to promote the album. “I’m really looking forward to hitting the road to promote the album in Europe and the US as these a two very important markets for Reggae. 

My music is enjoying a lot of support both in Europe and America. Black Coffee & World War 3 is getting heavy rotation on some of the biggest radio stations in Europe and the US,” said Orisha. 1 Reggae was produced by Shel K for Black & Yellow Entertainment and is now available for pre-order on ITunes.
