Mighty Crown Scores Landmark Performance @IrishandChin

... On historic 'Welcome to Jamrock' Reggae Cruise.

The Reggae music and travel/leisure industries alike are buzzin' over the high profile, inaugural "Welcome to Jamrock" Reggae Cruise, which sailed the high seas from Miami to Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, October 20-25, 2014.

History was made during the world's first Reggae-themed cruise, which was spearheaded by internationally-respected artist Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley.

Without a doubt, Mighty Crown scored one of the cruise's most revered and talked about performances. Hailing from Yokohama, Japan, the world renowned Mighty Crown sound system delivered exceptional entertainment, which thoroughly engaged the massive crowd.

The Main Deck of the Norwegian Pearl came alive each night as Reggae music fans converged to celebrate the occasion. Excitement and energy reached an all time high when Mighty Crown "The Far East Rulers" took over the Main Stage on Day 4 of the infamous cruise. A sea of lighters, horns and pure bliss engulfed the massive audience, as Mighty Crown musically demonstrated why they are a "champion" sound and international force to be reckoned with.

Magically, Mighty Crown reached every member of the audience with well crafted music selections. "Performing on the 'Welcome to Jamrock' Reggae Cruise was a dream come true for Mighty Crown...I am proud to say that Crown was a part of history," says Masta Simon, Mighty Crown co-founder and selector. "I think that Mighty Crown exceeded the expectations of everyone on board," says Mighty Crown's manager Garfield "Chin" Bourne of Irish and Chin. "Mighty Crown connected with the crowd, solidifying their passion for Reggae music through memorable performances." Rich in stage presence, the famed sound capitalized on their love and knowledge of Reggae music.

All four members of Mighty Crown were present, including Co-founders Masta Simon and Sami, Ninja and Cojie. The sound's members interchanged positions flawlessly, constantly connecting with the crowd and never missing a beat. Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, Baby Cham, Rennaisance and many other enterntainers on board could be spotted rocking incessantly during Mighty Crown's show. "The Far East Rulers" drew massive boomshots when they demonstrated Reggae music's power and infinite reach by dropping Reggae songs from artists/countries across the world, including the U.S., Germany, Canada, Bermuda, Japan, Italy, Jamaica and more.

Mighty Crown let it be well known how Reggae music is their inspiration and driving force. The popular sound constantly hailed and thanked Jamaica for such a captivating and prosperous music art form and paid tribute to the greats. During a moving "homage" set, the Japanese warriors acknowledged Bob Marley through a string of musical favorites and Reggae's "Daddy" Toots of Toots and The Maytals. This segment became so intense that Sami T hopped atop a speaker to profess his respect of Reggae's forefathers to the crowd!

Heavy Dancehall, Lover's Rock, Roots and Foundation showcased Mighty Crown's diversity. Intense sets kept the crowd screaming out, skanking, bubbling and more. Mighty Crown's immeasurable captivation of the crowd spoke volumes. The Mighty Crown "it" factor became immediately apparent on Day 1 of the cruise, when the international sound "shelled" the Norwegian Pearl's Bliss Ultra Lounge with vibrant tunes! Until 5 AM, Mighty Crown mesmerized the swollen crowd of revelers with hot selections.

Even the Marley family (Stephen, Damian, Julian, Jo Mersa, and more) vibed to tunes during the sound's more than memorable kick off performance. The "Welcome to Jamrock" ship has docked until 2015, but Mighty Crown's vibes willl continue through out the year, with November being one of their busiest months.

The famed sound has performances in Canada on Friday, November 21 (alongside Stone Love) and Saturday, November 22 (Dubs Haffi Nice), NY's legendary concert hall SOB's on Monday, November 24, followed by their highly anticipated "Money Pull Up - Unfinished Business" tour with Fire Links November 26 - November 29.
