Spragga Benz Introduces The First Lady Out Of Red Square

Spragga Benz has officially introduced Bad Gal Bambi as the "Leading Lady" of his Red Square music production camp. With that are two brand new releases entitled, "Money Talk" (Produced By : Casper Productions) & the song that has already begun making its buzz, "Have It Yah" Feat. Spragga Benz (Produced By: Supa 134-Johnny Fuago) which is set for a winter 2010/11 release. In her own words Bad Gal Bambi states,"Without confidence in self you're twice defeated in life" .

This is a motto she lives by and that which drives her to strive for success in a male dominated industry. Novrica Mercedes Powell aka "Bad Gal Bambi", was born in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in Willodene, Spanish Town Jamaica . She lived there from the tender age of 4 months old, up until she turned 5.

After returning to the U.S., she continued to visit Jamaica during her summer breaks. During those visits she started developing a growing interest into her reggae roots through singing and dancing. Some of her musical inspirations were Lil Kim, Queen Pen, Janet Jackson, Erykah Badu and other Hip Hop and Alternative Rock Groups.

As she got more into Dance hall she got inspiration from listening to Sister Nancy, Sister Charmane, Shelly Thunda, Lady G, Patra, Lady Saw, Macka Diamond, Tanya Stephens. Bad Gal Bambi then moved to Japan with her family during her high school years. It was there where she recorded her first song in Okinawa with a music group named "Planet Oki" in 2003.

After graduating from Kubaski high school, she then relocated to N.Y.C. She was then discovered by an audio recording engineer named Afrikan Vybz (MC for Shashamane Intl. 2009 UK World Sound Cup Clash Champion) from Brooklyn. Her first smash hit single "Bad Gal Forward, Bad Gal Pull-Up" was a phenomenon around the world during 2006/07.

Since then, she has performed in various venues among some of her influences, such as Major Mackrel, Junior Demus, Sister Charmaine, Shine Head, and Spragga Benz just to name a few. Spragga Benz has deemed her as the First Lady of his "Red Square" music production camp and she is still a part of the "Planet Oki Movement" from japan. Spragga Benz also featured her in his "Pon Di Willy" video where she displays her talent as a dancer. She's currently working with some of today's top Hip Hop / Reggae Dance Hall Producers.

Listen out for other singles like "Tan Tuddy" (Produced By : Jah Snowcone) off of the "South Bronx" riddim compilation. Bad Gal Bambi also appears on the "Hold Yuh" riddim compilation (Produced By : John Efx) with the hot single that blazes up the night clubs "Real Bad Gal". She had recorded that song as a counteraction to Nicki Minaj's "Hold Yuh" Gyptain Remix.

Bad Gal Bambi says she was just expressing her hetrosexual ism on the "Hold Yuh" riddim, the same way Nicki Minaj expressed her bisexual ism. Bad Gal Bambi says that she has nothing personal against Nicki Minaj, and that she is one of Nicki's early supporters stemming from the fact that, during the years of 2007/08/09, Bad Gal Bambi hosted for disc jockeys who featured the two new female Artist that were rising from the tri-state area on their mix CD.

"Anything is possible, nuh tell .me seh me cyah" which is why Bad Gal Bambi continues to promote her self as a disc jockey along with two other females forming one of the leading female Clash/ Juggling Sound Systems named "Vybz Ladyz".

Playing her own music is just a starting point to making it to the top as a Artiste. Her mother always told her "Any path with no obstacles probably doesn't lead anywhere". Bad Gal Bambi believes that with hard work, determination and the Most High in her heart, Bad Gal Bambi will achieve her dream and become one of the top female Artiste even with those many obstacles placed before her.
