Dubtronic Kru Added To EME Awards Line-Up

Kingston Jamaica, March 1, 2011: With just under two weeks left before the much-anticipated 7th Annual Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME) Awards unfolds at Devon House in Kingston, Jamaica, on Saturday, March 12, 2011, event Founder and Chairman Richard “Richie B’ Burgess said preparations are well advanced and the marketing campaign is going very well.

"The EME Awards Nominees Announcement Show which aired exclusively on CVM TV and CVM Plus (Cable) in Jamaica on Valentine’s Day went very well and gave our promotions a big shot in the arm” Burgess indicated. "The focus now is to ramp up ticket sales and make this year's event another sold out affair. I encourage patrons not to wait for the last minute as we only have a limited number of seats to fill. I am confident that we will be able to put together a very entertaining, first class production that will rival the best events of its kind in the world” he said.

Early bird tickets are now available in two seating categories: General JA$2,500.00 and VIP JA$3,500.00 and can be purchased at the the Mall Pharmacy, Petcom Portmore Parkway, Xtras Mall Plaza and Manor Park and Upper Cut Barbers - Liguanea Post Mall.

The 2011 EME's will feature live performances from American rappers EVE and TRINA, as well as Jamaica's very own Jah Cure, Elephant Man, Bounty Killer, Lady Saw, Etana, Wayne Wonder, Tifa, Andrew Tosh, No-Maddz, Toya, Kahlil and Leba Hibbert who are all preparing to heat up the stage. Dubtonic Kru, who won "The Global Battle of the Bands Competition" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and have earned the title of "Best New Band in the World" is the latest addition to the impressive list of performers.

"I wish to congratulate Dubtonic Kru on their remarkable and significant win in Malaysia this year and am very pleased to announce that the group will take their victory celebration to the EME Awards stage. No one should miss this milestone moment" the EME Founder said.

"I feel doubly happy since the EME Awards is actually introducing for the first time this year, the category 'Best Instrumental Group with Vocals,' as a means of encouraging bands like Dubtonic Kru to gain even greater respect here at home" he noted.

The EME will be streamed live at www.jamaicansmusic.com to thousands of reggae lovers all over the world (including Jamaica) who are not be able to attend the event in Kingston.

“We are so excited to be able to offer this service to the thousands of music lovers globally who are unable to attend the event. By offering this service, we are taking a leadership role in bringing quality Jamaican entertainment right into the homes of music enthusiasts."

Kimanda Cunningham Scores With “My Baby!”

Produced by DJ Karim for the Stainless Records Imprint, Road Crusher Records recording artist Kimanda Cunningham scores her 2nd international hit record with the song “My Baby!”

Built as a variation to the original Fade Away riddim, Kimanda makes the topic of love her focus when she sings “mih tell him seh mih love mih love him / nih fraid fih kiss up and hug him / mih hug him / nuh mek nuh girl come take him / nuh mek nug bwoy come violate him / mih rate him …”

Tony Carr from WPFW in the metro DC area says the song is a “perfect blend of classic Reggae music and quality lyrics,” while Blood Preshah from Denver, Colorado says Kimanda is definitely one of his artists to watch. “I am confident about her success” said the veteran DJ.

The international Reggae community of Radio music presenters agree as Kimanda is enjoying regular radio play in the Netherlands, France, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Antigua, the Cayman Islands, the UK, Australia, the US and Canada where DJ Wiz from CHRY 105.5 FM says “my listeners are impressed with what they’ve heard so far!”

“The song speaks to men and what their women feel about them” said Kimanda from rehearsal at the Road Crusher recording studios. “I just wanted to speak for the ladies with this song!”
