Jamaican Dancehall-Soul star Cherine will be one of the headlining acts at this year's 25th Annual Philadelphia Caribbean Festival, her management company Zlink Entertainment, Inc announces. Cherine has been making major strides on the reggae/dancehall scene both locally and internationally and is gearing up to release her much anticipated debut album later this year.

Though this is her first appearance on The Annual Philadelphia Caribbean Festival, she is no stranger to the "City of brotherly Love" having first performed at Penns Landing in 2008 when she toured with Reggae Legends Sly & Robbie.

n 2010 she performed to a near capacity crowd at the Wachovia Center in downtown Philadelphia, when she opened with Michael Franti & Spearhead for the multiplatinum-selling star John Mayer on his Battle Studies North American Tour. She most recently came through town with fellow reggae star I-Octane at The Blockley.

Cherine has been enjoying much success both in Jamaica and on the International reggae and dancehall scene. She hit the Billboard charts in 2009 when she was featured on the reggae/pop hit "Say Hey (I Love You)"by Michael Franti , which was produced by Jamaican producers Sly & Robbie. Since then, she has wasted no time and has created steady hits in Jamaica and is dominating airwaves in 2011 with her most recent anthem "Rebel" with dj D.I as well as "Make Up Woi".

Another recent single gaining steady rotation on Jamaican radio these days is "Call On Me" her duet with Chuck Fenda, who she collaborated with previously on another massive reggae hit "Coming Over Tonight". Other solo hits include "Good Love", the patriotic and powerful "Shine On Jamaica", the heartfelt "Kingston State of Mind" as well as the female anthem "Talk if Yuh Talking"

When asked what fans can expect from her upcoming appearance on this years festival she says " I wont give everything away but patrons can come out and expect to really enjoy themselves. Bring the kids, bring grandma and grandpa and get ready for an amazing time."

The 25th Annual Philadelphia Caribbean Festival will take place on August 21st between 2pm-8pm at The Great Plaza, Penns Landing in Philadelphia and is expected to attract thousands of patrons. The festival is a family event and is free to the public.
