Uncle Jonny Teams with Luciano to "Move Over!"‏

Using their voices as weapons for the Holiday season and in the New Year, Canada’s Uncle Jonny, teams with Jamaica’s Luciano, and together take aim at racism in the world with their collaborative song “Move Over.”

With a vow to spread increased awareness for the issue which is still prevalent in some circles within Reggae and Dancehall, Uncle Jonny and Luciano boldly declare war against the unnecessary plague, and use their music video for the song as one way to reinforce the message.

Directed by Ray Smith, the video’s opening scene sees Jonny entering a music studio, and two men asking “ah who da white bwoy yah ah call call bwoy – matta ah fact – where him ah go?” Immediately following the exchange, Luciano is seen entering the same studio, and greeted by the same gentlemen who call the veteran Majesty, greeting Luciano with respect and manners.

Luciano asks if Jonny, singer from Canada has arrived, at which time the two men realize that there’s more to the white man than meets the eye.“Racism affects all of us,” said Uncle Jonny from his recording space in Toronto. “It’s time we end racism and focus on living a positive life.”

With that in mind, the video goes on to showcase both veteran artists recording their song “Move Over” in the studio in Jamaica, as well as shows clips of the two artists performing the song in an open gathering, and fans waving placards stating “end racism now.”

Reinforcing lyrics from the song include: “Don’t waste time / open up your mind / one by one / we can make it happen / evil stares / pay no mind who cares / didn’t get the message / it’s simply human rights ….”

The video has been featured on Hype TV where its taken up residence for the past few months on the Top 10 chart. The song has also received support from the international radio community playing authentic Roots Reggae.
