I-Octane Re-Signed As Digicel Brand Ambassador


…following breathtaking performances at Rebel Salute, Chug It, over the weekend

Reggae/dancehall star I-Octane proved once again that he is indeed a force to be reckoned with. He proved just that when he stepped onto the Rebel Salute stage over the weekend, wowing the audience, many of whom could hardly contain their excitement for the reggae star.

In one of the best performances of the night, I-Octane reminded fans why he is one of the top emerging acts in Jamaica. The energetic artiste was true to form and every song he performed incited a frenzy within the crowd.

With a structured set that gradually gained momentum, I-Octane fired off an onslaught of hits including his most recent single, Gal a Gimme Bun, Bad Mind Dem a Pree, More Love and We Love the Vibes.And indeed the crowd did enjoy ‘the vibes’ as Octane’s high energy set saw fans singing along with every tune he delivered. I-Octane paced his set well, pausing at intervals during his performance to speak with fans.  

According to the artiste, it is always a pleasure to perform for his fans. "It was a good night, I fulljoyed myself. Bless up all the fans for their support and big up Tony Rebel," he said. After an exceptional response to his set, the reggae star also made an appearance at the popular Chug It event which was held in Portmore on Sunday. 

I-Octane could do no wrong for the eager crowd. Seeing the musical thirst of the audience, I-Octane wasted no time in showcasing his vocal ability, electrifying the beach with his heart pounding performance. To top off a great weekend and week, I-Octane, after a successful two year partnership with telecommunications giant Digicel, has been re-signed as one of their brand ambassadors. He did a 15 minute set in front of a small audience along with the Riddim 2000 band at the re-signing event held inside the Big Yard Studios.

Tommy Lee Sparta Announces...


Breakthrough dancehall act, TommyLee Sparta announces new dates for upcoming international shows. The SHOOK tour dates for Canada, which are now postponed due to a medical condition, have been rescheduled for next month, with all tickets still being valid.

TommyLee Sparta’s manager, Junior “Heavy-D” Fraser explained, “I apologize on behalf of the promoters and team Sparta. We tried every way of working this out but at this time it’s clearly not possible, this is a circumstance beyond our control.

All tickets are still valid for the new dates next month. February 22, 23 and 24th are already confirmed. The venues remain the same for the Montreal and Toronto shows.” TommyLee is currently under doctor’s orders and very disappointed that his slated projects are being delayed.

His Heavy Films music video shoots for his hit tracks; Body Mechanic and Spartan Angel have also been cancelled, in addition to several other appearances. TommyLee Sparta will be in Montreal On February 22nd, Toronto on February 23rd and on February 24th with the venue to be confirmed, all tickets purchased for the original dates will be honored.  

The artiste expressed that he would like to thank his fans in Canada for their ongoing support. He was advised that the ticket sales did remarkably well and so was looking forward to the highly anticipated concerts. “Next month will only be better”, he said. The artiste welcomed the New Year with a Google endorsement as Google Play identified him as an artiste to watch for in 2013. 

In Kenya he earned the title of, Breakthrough artiste of the year. He is presently the #1 Reggae artiste for Jamaica on Reverbanation, on New Year’s Day producer, Da Wiz released his first official EP for 2013, Save Dem Soul. TommyLee Sparta had a phenomenal 2012 with outstanding performances at Reggae Sumfest, Sting and St Lucia Love Fest. 

He also performed to a record crowd at the annual Guyana Christmas bash with other notable performances in Antigua, St Vincent, Canada and the UK. He earned #1 spots on charts in Jamaica, and across the Caribbean with: Some Bwoy, Psycho, Tom & Jerry, “Shook” (Uncle Demon), Buss Blank. He released three official compilations: Psycho Tad’s Records – (September), Grim Reaper (21st Hapilos - October) and a twelve track LP by TJ Records, Bay Badness.

Saphya Gets Attention with Prayer A Day


Life Sweet recording artist Saphya is currently enjoying much attention with her latest single called Prayer A Day. The single which was released over a month ago on the Life Sweet imprint is currently enjoying heavy rotation locally on radio stations including IRIE FM and HITZ 92FM.

The accompanying music video for Prayer A Day is also doing well, it is getting strong rotation on television stations such as HYPE TV and CVM PLUS. As expected Saphya is extremely pleased with the attention the single is receiving. “I’m very happy and appreciative for all the support my song is getting.

It’s the first official single off my debut album and my team and I are really putting a lot of promotion behind it, so it’s nice to see that it’s paying off.” The talented singjay was recently in the island doing the promotional rounds. While she was here she did a number of interviews on TV stations such as HYPE TV and PBCJ, she also performed on Galiday Bounce.

Ryan Oneil Looks Forward to More Success in 2013


Fast rising Dancehall artiste Ryan Oneil enjoyed what could be described as the most fruitful year of his career last year. During 2012 he scored multiple chart toppers with singles he recorded for top producers and labels including Seanizzle and popular IRIE FM DJ Ainsworth Higgins (Big A).According to Ryan Oneil he plans to build on the success he enjoyed last year in order to take his career to the next level. “I plan to build on the work that was done last year and move my career to new heights.

Last year I had a very good run on the charts with I’m Just Saying and A Nuh Me, this year I want to achieve even greater success,” said the artiste. Ryan Oneil is currently promoting a brand new single titled Late Again on the Hot Pursuit rhythm.

He is also getting ready to release a mix tape titled Earth Quake international Presents Ryan Oneil. The mix tape which is slated to be released early next month was produced by legendary New York sound-system Earthquake International. Ryan Oneil is booked to Appear on the big Spring Break stage show in Negril this March.
