Ninja Man Tops the Charts


Veteran Dancehall artiste Desmond John Ballentine popularly know as Ninja Man is currently riding a wave of success. The self style Don Gorgon of Dancehall music recently topped the Jamaica Music Countdown Dancehall Top 25 Singles Chart with his hit single titled Dweet ft. Specialist.

The song which was released in March by Downsound Records has been on the charts for a total of 19 weeks. Since its release Dweet has made its way on to a number of other local charts. The controversial single has also registered on several overseas Reggae and Dancehall charts.

Dweet is currently number 5 on DJ Gusma T’s Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart in Italy. Ninja Man who is currently promoting a hot new single called Jamaica Town is extremely pleased about the success of Dweet.

“I am happy and appreciative for all the support that the fans and everyone in the industry are giving me. Its a nice feeling to know that I can still top the charts after being in the business for over 20 years. I have to big up Specialist too, he's a very talented youth and I am happy that the two of us could collaborate and make this hit song,” said Ninja Man. 

The supporting music video for Dweet has also enjoyed much success. The video which was directed Mr. B, recently topped the Hit List Dancehall Chart on CVM TV for several weeks. Ninja Man also has another song inside the top ten of Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Dancehall Singles Chart. 

His biographical single aptly titled Ninja Mi Ninja is currently sitting in the number 8 spot on the chart. The video for Ninja Mi Ninja is now the number 1 video on Suzie Q’s Video Alley Top Ten Countdown Show on TVJ.

Wyclef Jean Graces The September Cover Of TRIPLE THE FOCUS


Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and producer Wyclef Jean is featured on the cover of the September issue of Caribbean E-Magazine, Triple the Focus. The former Fugees member has worked with a laundry list of Pop, R&B, Hip Hop and Reggae talents including Whitney Houston, Santana, Destiny's Child, Michael Jackson, Eric Benet, Mya, The Black Eyes Peas, Sinead O'Connor, Mick Jagger, Canibus, Bounty Killer, Tevin Campbell and Shakira.

In an exclusive interview, Jean sat down with Editor-In-Chief, Stacey Bethel at Daddy's House studio in New York City to talk about his run for President of Haiti, his new headphones, SIG, to hit the market later this year, his new single "Bagay Nef" available now on iTunes, Mixtape 'April Showers' which is received over 1 million downloads since its release, plans for his new album 'Carnival Returns' slated for release February 2014 and his company, All Hands On Deck.

Harry Toddler Making Waves With "Surprise Your Throat"


Downsound recording artiste Harry Toddler is known for his colorful style and witty lyrics. Since his emergence on the local music scene in the late 90s as a member of the Scare Dem Crew, Harry Toddler has delivered some of the most memorable dancehall hits such as Dance The Angel, Bad Man Nuh Dress Like Girl, Don't Run In and Watch Your Friends.

The affable Deejay is once again making waves in the dancehall with his latest single titled Surprise Your Throat. “I write my songs for the dancehall people, the people who go out and party every night, these people are true to the music. Once you can connect with the real dancehall fans as a dancehall artiste your career will last long, because they are the ones supporting your music.

Thats why I wrote Surprise Your Throat, because when you go out you have to floss and enjoy yourself. All real dancehall fans can identify with the lyrics in the song because what I am singing about is the real dancehall experience,” said the artiste.

Harry Toddler said he is not at all surprised that Surprise Your Throat is a hit with dancehall fans. “From the moment I wrote this song I knew it was going to be a hit, the whole settings of the song makes it a hit. The lyrics, the rhythm and the whole energy, everything thing about it makes if fit for the streets, so the people have to love it.” 

The accompanying music video for the single that was produced by Downsound Records is currently enjoying heaving rotation on several television stations including CVM Plus, Hype TV and Re TV. 

Harry Toddler is currently busy in the studios working on a number of soon to be released projects. “I am working on a lot of new projects with various top producers. The fans can expect more good music from Harry Toddler because I am not easing up,” said the artiste.
