Wayne Wonder Set to Release Video 'Reset It'

Wayne Wonder is set to release the video for his single 'Reset It', produced by Pay Day Music and directed by IceyJace Film. Shot in Portland Jamaica, capital of Port Antonio, director IceyJace took full advantage of the tropical scenery, which compliments the theme of lovers reminiscing and wanting to 'Reset' the good old days.

'Reset it' is an up-tempo love song, with a gentleman asking his love to "reset it back like how it was, when we use to love". The video is set to release end of October right before Wayne Wonder embarks on his Japan tour October 28 to November 16, 2013.

"Reset it, is a song that was released earlier this year and Pay Day Music and I thought it was a good song to video especially with the international airplay it is currently receiving" says Wayne Wonder. The video will premiere on Wayne Wonder's FaceBook page for all to see. In the meantime, click here and listen to the track.

Wayne Marshall Reveals His Tru Colors ON NOV 26, 2013

The 5-Song EP Will Be Released on Ghetto Youths International Produced by Damian Marley and Featuring Guest Collaborations with Assassin, Ace Hood, Baby Cham and Waka Flocka.

Jamaican reggae artist Wayne Marshall will release his Tru Colors EP on November 26, 2013 to give fans a taste of his highly anticipated album carrying the same name.

His Tru Colors album will drop January 21, 2014 and is Marshall’s first full-length release in over 10 years, following his debut Marshall Law (VP Records).

Both upcoming releases will be available on the Marley-owned label Ghetto Youths International and distributed through Thirty Tigers / Sony Red. Produced by Damian Marley, the 5-song EP showcases Marshall’s range as singer, deejay (rapper) and songwriter and is the perfect mixture of his latest hits and new material.

The EP’s two never-before-heard tracks, “Go Harder” and “Stupid Money,” feature an array of star-studded collaborations. Harmonized by Marshall’s unforgettable hook, Ace Hood, Baby Cham and Waka Flocka deliver hard-hitting verses on “Go Harder,” the remix of Marshall’s 2012 hit “Go Hard.” The original song’s video garnered over 3.3 million views on World Star Hip Hop alone, so it only seemed fitting to give this hip-hop flavored club anthem a fresh twist.

Then fellow dancehall artist Assassin, who recently landed a guest verse on Kanye West’s Yeezus album, complements Marshall’s clever lyrics on the brand new single “Stupid Money,” which was serviced to radio this week. Okayplayer’s Large Up claims “Stupid Money” is “catchy” and “wouldn’t be too surprised to hear the song infiltrating commercial radio,” while Boomshots says “rarely has filthy luchre inspired such eloquent expressions of enthusiasm."

In addition to these brand new singles, Marshall’s most recent hit “I Know” nabbed a spot on the Tru Colors EP. The single is currently receiving rotation on Jamaican airwaves and its Jay-Will directed video is also spreading across the blogsphere. VIBE premiered the visual and raved that Marshall “rocks the party” on this “turnt-up bashment.”

Ebony also selected the video on their weekly music round up and loves his “braggadocious lyrics about being the ish.” Tru Colors closes with two bonus tracks from Wayne’s hit-filled repertoire, including “To The Bank” and “Good Ole Wife” off the popular Matrimony riddim. Both songs are available exclusively on the EP and will not be on the upcoming album.

Special Edition! Sean Paul Full Frequency Dynamic Collaborations

Full Frequency, the highly anticipated sixth studio album for international Dancehall superstar Sean Paul, is gearing up to be a menu of eclectic musical flavours suitable for most palettes.

The album, to be released in November, sees Sean Paul collaborating with artistes that add a mixture of genres, complimenting the dynamism of the artiste. The album for Sean represents longevity.

"It is difficult to stay inspired. "I am grateful that I am still inspired to do music and being noticed at the current level that I am," Sean said in an interview with Factory78.

Check out some of the musical genres featured on Full Frequency:

Hip-Hop
Juicy J, 2 Chain (American Rappers) and Nicki Minaj (Trini-American rapper) collaborate on Sean Paul's single, Entertainment. Bringing Hip-Hop into the mix with their rapping styles, they chant rhyming lyrics that is often associated with Reggae.

Reggae
Jamaican Reggae Superstar Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley can be heard on Sean Paul's single Riot. Sean's dancehall vibe and Damian's strong Reggae crooning mixed with beats of Electronic Dance Music and Hip-Hop create a fusion that instantly captures the interests of listeners. Reggae originates in Jamaica, the birth country of both artistes in the late 1960s. Reggae evolved out of the earlier genres Ska and Rocksteady.

Electronic Dance
Electronic Dance music or Dance/Club music is a fast tempo rhythm that boasts a mix of percussive electronic music produced mainly for dance based entertainment such as night club settings, commonly used by DJs to create a segue or mix. Australian singer, Iggy Azalea who Sean Paul says, is "fresh in the business but has a good vibe," collaborates with Sean Paul with single Wickedest Style on his upcoming Full Frequency album.

Bachata
American latin crooner, Prince Royce affixes his smooth romantic vocals to the dynamic mix of singles featured on Full Frequency. With single Dangerous Ground American singer Prince Royce adds the genre of Bachata to the array of eclectic music. Bachata is an Afro-Latino genre of music that originated in The Dominica Republic in the early 20th century that spread to Latin America and Mediterranean Europe that usually portrays romantic and heartbreak music.

R&B
Nyla (Jamaican songstress) formerly of Brick and Lace is featured on a raunchy number, Porn Star. The single showcases Sean Paul's Dancehall rhymes blended with Nyla's R&B style to form an interesting blend of genres that produces a striking fusion. R& B with its smooth affluent style of vocal arrangement combines elements of Rhythm and Blues, Pop, Soul, Funk and Hip-Hop styles originating after the decline of disco.

Dancehall
Sean Paul's primary musical style, Dancehall originated in the late 1960s and portrays a faster rhythm than Reggae. This came about from dance sessions (Parties) held in the clubs of Jamaica. Konshens (Jamaican sing J) and Sean Paul on their hard hitting single reverberate the fact that they Want Dem All.

Matthew Greenidge's Jah Rules Over All Debut Album

Combing soothing, uplifting harmonies and strong messages against consumerism and the isms and schisms of everyday life, "He Loves Forever" by Trinidadian reggae vocalist Matthew Greenidge is the debut single release from the forthcoming album, Jah Rules Over All. Revolutionary in its laser focus, Greenidge bears witness to the power of Jah ("even after all these trials still gotta give praise") regardless of class or color.

For Matthew Greenidge, a rising reggae artist from Trinidad, the music is a mission, not a competition. Invoking the spiritual foundation of reggae, Greenidge's new album “_Jah Rules Over All_” (Jah Light Records) delivers contagious, positive messages in the spirit of modern roots.

Indeed, an organic mix of contemporary riddims and live arrangements across the album's twelve tracks build a strong and unique narrative of encouragement, resilience and hope as told through Greenidge's singjay sensibility.

Fellow Trini reggae vocalists, including international recording star Queen Omega, Gyasi and King Solomon, add depth and breadth to this special project, a milestone in the history of Trinidadian reggae. Featuring production input from Trinidad and abroad such as Jahlight Records (Trinidad), One Harmony Records (UK), Flow Production (Switzerland) and Studio 53 (Trinidad),

Jah Rules Over All puts everyday social commentary in a real world context, regardless of color or class. "I really learned how to exist with purpose through reggae music," says Greenidge. Jah Rules Over All effectively shares that purpose with the world. The album will release November 5, 2013 in CD and digital formats which will be handled by IDC and BFM, respectively.

“Some modern reggae singers will draw on dancehall in a slick, overtly high-tech way, but on Jah Rules Over All, Matthew Greenidge demonstrates that a reggae singer can make extensive use of dancehall while remaining quite faithful to the spirit of classic roots reggae.” – Alex Henderson

World Clash R.E.S.E.T. 2013: Juggling Sound Metromedia Wins

New York, New York -- October 2013 -- Sound clash fans from around the globe turned out in the droves to take in the famed sound system competition, World Clash R.E.S.E.T. 2, on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

The highly energized second installment of Irish and Chin’s R.E.S.E.T. shocked the massive audience, industry and social media, as the performances of juggling sounds went above and beyond expectations, resulting in an iconic victory for Sky Juice/Metromedia.
Weaved with high level energy, crafted speeches and infinite music selections with a professionally produced stage as the back drop, the clash’s other contenders, King Addies, Mighty Crown, Fire Links, LP International and Soul Supreme, also delivered entertaining, memorable performances.

Early in the clash, it became clear that the juggling sounds were a force to be reckoned with. There was no hit or miss by Sky Juice/Metromedia, as the veteran selector won over the audience with experience and class. Appopriately donning a fitted track suit, the charismatic Sky Juice ran circles around most of his competion during R.E.S.E.T. Backed by on point selector Oliver, Sky Juice was the most consistent contender throughout the clash, relying on the union of tight speeches and well-fitted “free tunes.”
Sky Juice/Metromedia alerted the audience and fellow sound men that he didn’t have to spend a whole heap of money to win this clash, rather he counted on the power of music…."free tunes." The famed competition’s other juggling giant Jazzy T/Renaissance came in with a roar, dropping dubs from Damian Jr Gong Marley and a Rihanna dub that fans are still raving over.

Jazzy T/Rennaisance maintained a strong presence, but unfortunately, their impact started to fade in the 4th round, resulting in elimination. Amidst the R.E.S.E.T. battlefield, the “King of New York” battle ensued. And the undeniable victor was King Addies. The “King” sound, armed with young selectors A1and Kingpin , boasted solid, consistent performances throughout the clash. While leaning on powerful staple selections from King Addies massive dub arsenal, Kingpin consistently advised his competitors and the audience that the new generation of King Addies is equip and here to stay.

King Addies stronghold in the competition allowed them to avoid elimination and reach the final “tune-fi-tune” stretch against Sky Juice/Metromedia. Unfortunately, fate was not so kind to Soul Supreme and LP International.
Despite the concentrated effort of the Soul Supreme team to sway the tough crowd with speeches, struggles were visible from the beginning. Soul Supreme was eliminated after the 2nd round. Brooklyn hot pick LP had highs and lows.

Relying on influence of heavy hitting artistes like Garnett Silk and other box anthems, sparked forwards, but not enough to keep LP in the clash. LP went home in the 3rd round. The Fire Links and Mighty Crown rivalry catapulted to another level, resulting in the firing of customized, targeted dubs at each other.

At times, the audience couldn’t help to give forwards for the comedic dubs. Fire Links was humorous, but often his musical selections failed to connect with the crowd. For example, a ska segment instantly flattened his momentum. Fire Links exited in the 3rd round. Mighty Crown was extremely prepared musically, but long winded speeches and skits negated the power of the big tunes being dropped. “The Far East Rulers” did have a number of respectable forwards, allowing them to make it to the 5th round.
Anxiety was high, as an iconic best of 10 “tune-fi-tune” erupted between the final contenders Sky Juice/Metromedia and King Addies. On a mission to “teach dem,” Sky Juice/Metromedia dropped heavy tunes, winning 6 of the 10 rounds.

King Addies declared all selections in the exciting segment as “big tunes,” but the selections were not big enough to consistently sway the crowd. King Addies went on to win 2 of the “tune-fi-tune” rounds.

With a final score of 6 to 2, Sky Juice/Metromedia won World Clash R.E.S.E.T., making history as the first juggling sound to accomplish this feat. World Clash R.E.S.E.T. left a lasting impression on fans, while proving that juggling sounds can play a huge role in sound system entertainment. With Sky Juice/Metromedia’s victory, the level playing field between juggling and clash sounds, which Irish and Chin promotes through R.E.S.E.T., could just well spark a trend!
