The Many Sides of ALAINE‏

Its not very often that the world is graced with a talented singer, actress, songwriter who occupies a heart of gold.

No stranger to the Jamaican diaspora or lovers of music, female reggae songbird Alaine has also been sharing her lyrical talent through the vessel of other talented musicians.

Most recently, the world have been captivated by the young beautiful firecracker Samantha J, who sings the popular song 'Tight up Skirt'.

'Tight up Skirt' has been attracting crossover and mainstream markets and record execs, which has resulted in features on BET, MTV.com, Billboard and Complex magazine write ups and most recently a photo shoot with BOY designs worn by other celebs such as Rihianna.

With so many accolades and recognition surrounding the song, nestled in the credits is Alaine Laughton's name. Aware of her song writing skills for artists like Tarrus Riley and Marcia Griffiths just to name a few. Alaine earned herself another crown along with the many others she wears daily; international song writer!

Requested by popular producer Washroom, Alaine was thrilled to come in and write a song for their artist Samantha J, and after hearing the sample hook of Red Rat 'Tight Skirt' she automatically started to sing the hook 'Mi a di girl inna di tight up skirt' and looking to her left she asked "J are you comfortable singing this" and the rest is history. Although it is no shock that Alaine wrote this song but it is surprising that the world didn't know.

"I love what I do. Writing, singing, producing is everything. I prefer doing all of the above, than talking about doing it" says Alaine. Currently voicing and getting ready to embark on a United States promotional tour, people are excited and anticipating the songbirds return. It is a refreshing energy and vibe brought to a line up when Alaine 'the songbird' is added. One that ensures lovers of music and true fans of music to enter your event or establishment.
