Mr. Vegas Releases Video For Out A Road Medley

Mr. Vegas, Wickerman, Mr. Lex, QQ and Famous face have all teamed up to release the medley video for the Out A Road Riddim on which they appear. The video, shot by Terminal 4 Media, was filmed in various sections of Half Way Tree and Red hills Road.

Featuring some of the most relevant names in Dancehall Music today, the Out A Road Riddim medley video is a visually pleasing composition. Mr. Vegas leads with the title track dubbed Road, which sees him as a taxi driver plying the Half Way Tree to Red Hills route. In the video Mr. Vegas humorously chronicles some of the challenges facing modern Jamaica.

Mr. Vegas is followed by Wickerman for his contribution called Box, Mr. Lex with How She do it, Famous Face with Dead Fi Yuh Body and QQ with Bounce Around. Not included in this video is the track by Assassin called Woe Be unto Them and Squat by Mr. Vegas.

Videos for these will follow. The Out A Road Riddim Medley Video is another in Mr. Vegas’ recent efforts at rejuvenating positive Dancehall based on fun and humor rather than violence and aggression.

Bunji Garlin Drops EP Carnival Tabanca

Trinidadian Ragga Soca vocalist Bunji Garlin brings the energy this Carnival week on his native island with a brand new EP Carnival Tabanca, available (March 4) on VP Records. The four-song set will feature his latest crop of Carnival tunes, including the popular title track, its fierce remix, the party starter "Red Light District" and Trinidad's 2014 street anthem "Truck On D Road." The self-proclaimed Viking of Soca also unleashes his latest video for "Carnival Tabanca."

Produced by Sheriff Mumbles (the man responsible for Garlin's crossover hit "Differentology (Ready For The Road)" - the song conveys Garlin's feelings of heartache each year as Carnival comes to a close. In the latest video, Garlin eloquently expresses this sentiment, backed by a grand piano and surrounded by thousands of screaming fans in the center of Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. Directors Walt Lovelace and Curtis Popplewell capture the intimate moment and take a behind-the-scenes look throughout the entire day.

Bunji Garlin wanted to create a unique visual and listening experience for the genre. "This video was done to present a different dimension and view on how and what soca music presents and represents as we exist as a people and a culture, and we will be heard," he proclaims.

The "Carnival Tabanca" video and new EP follows Garlin's international mega-hit "Differentology (Ready For The Road)" (available now on Soca Gold 2013) and its popular Major Lazer remix (available now on Strictly The Best 49). After Trinidad & Tobago Carnival, Bunji Garlin heads to the U.S. Southeast for a sweep of shows and promotional activities from March 20-28. In late spring, he is also slated to release his new studio album on VP Records.
