Chart Busting RichieLoop
Rapidly rising Richard 'RichieLoop' Webb has begun to make impressive strides towards carving his name into music history, and getting recognised for his work as a Singer, Songwriter and Producer, with three singles already in steady rotation on radio stations right across the island, and internationally.
The 23 year old talent, who hails from the parish of Clarendon and was educated at Clarendon College, has always been an entertainer, dabbling in dancing and acting while he was just a child. He later pursued studies in Information Technology at Excelsior Community College and upon completion, worked at Gumption Recording studios as a composer, whereby the name RichieLoops was given to him.
After a brief 4 months tenure, he continued on his musical path to Gal A Rush Recording Studios, where he spent 5 months working on his craft. During this period he also had the opportunity to work with veteran reggae artist Derrek Morgan. Since September 2009 RicieLooop was offered his major contract by Robert Livingston CEO of Scikron Entertainment / Big Yard family.
Richieloop describes his experiences with Robert Livingston, as a critical learning process in his career as a singer, songwriter, composer and producer. "I will be able to learn from one of the greatest musicians of all time and continue the legacy of Scikron Entertainment," he said. His main focuses is on working to improve his skills by incorporating new styles of beats and songs that people will ‘enjoy to the fullest.
This has resulted in him creating the ‘Brainstorm’ rhythm alongside D-Lynx, as well as high energy rythms such as ‘Maad a Road,’ and ‘Sweat Shop’ rhythms, RichieLoop is already showing and has begun to deliver on the promise that Livingston saw in him. He describes his music as a fusion of dancehall, which influenced by genres such as: disco, rock and hip hop which comes from his outside-the-box creativity and imagination.
He is also broadening his horizons by experimenting with his vocal talents, and his song-writing skills. So far, he has produced songs on two of the rhythms he brought to life - ‘She Wants It Good’ on the ‘BrainStorm’ rhythm and ‘GalWhine’ on the ‘Sweat Shop’ rhythm. However, his hot new single MyCupp is what seems to be garnering the most attention from the public and the media. This single is one which he says was inspired by watching an interview he watched. Loop’s rhythms have been the vehicle by which some of Scikron/Big Yard's other acts have gone out onto the airwaves. His catalogue includes (but is not limited to) productions for Shaggy, Christopher Martin, D-Lynx, Iceman and D-Major; and other popular Jamaican acts like Ce'cile, Voicemail, Red Fox, Lukie D, Tony Matterhorn and upcoming female dancehall artist Rae Tay.
RichieLoop intends to be working alongside some of Jamaica’s and international best talents. This artist, songwriter and producer, on the rise is working hard, hoping that one day he will be the standard by which Jamaican entertainers are judged. Based on what he has done so far, that day could be arriving much sooner than he thinks.
