Unicorn prays for Jamaica with new single titled Day Come
Making music is an everyday routine for dancehall artist/producer Unicorn. The talented deejay who originally hails from Clarendon says that he is always in the studio working on new ideas. “Mi always inna di studio working on something new for the streets because when mi touch the stage mi haffi have the right tunes to connect with the people,” said Unicorn.
For Unicorn writing is easy as he draws his inspiration from everyday experiences. His latest single on the State Of Emergency rhythm, which is titled Day Come is based on the recent unrest in west Kingston. “After mi si wha happen dung a west Kingston mi did haffi do a song bout it cause di whole thing just scary, mi could believe wha mi si pon di TV it look like a war zone. This song is a prayer, mi a beg God fi save wi cause Jamaica can not take anymore death and destruction.”
Since it was released to local stations last week Day Come which is produced by Collavanni and Ricardo Reid for the Collavanni label, has been getting a lot support from several top radio DJs including IRIE FM’s DJ Sunshine. In the mean time Unicorn is busy in the studios working on several projects for the summer. The very jovial entertainer says he is gearing up for the summer as he plans to make a very serious dent in the dancehall arena this year.
