Reggae music’s melodic singer Warrior King said he’s in a joyful mood, as the he continues to do well with his current hit single I Wanna Give Your love. He is also pleased with the response to his third album ‘Love is in the Air’, which is currently available on Itunes and will be available on CD format as early as January 2011.
The singer/messenger said there’s a new management system in place, and that he believes his musical days will get better and better on local soil, due to a host of upcoming projects.
Since his breakthrough single Virtuous Woman in 2001, Warrior King exceeded all expectations both locally and internationally but found himself slipping down the chart of reggae music’s most-promising acts, a situation he believes was due to a lack of proper management.
However, the melodic chanter installed a new management system over seven months ago and has said that this decision has affected his career in a very positive way.
“My management is headed by Kevin Roye a.ka. Biggaton, from Imhotepc Records. We teamed up about a little over seven months now and a lot has been accomplished and am very pleased as everyone is hearing me now,” he said, while noting that his previous management team really lacked a structured promotional plan.
Reggae music has been on the rise locally ever since the Broadcasting Commission put a ban on all illicit music being played on air, as the need for uplifting music has become prevalent. This move has seen a steady increase in the amount of cultural reggae music being aired locally.
Warrior King whose, album boast 10 tracks and was produced primarily by his home-based record label Rootz Warrior Production, sided with the theory that reggae music is on a rise in Jamaica largely because people are in desperate need for uplifting music.
“Yea I share that sentiment. You can feel the vibes as people are tired of the negative vibes, they need positive music,” he said.
And, he is also optimistic that his soon-to-be- release singles Experience Teacheth Wisdom, I’m In Love With You and I’m Cold, will do very well.
“I have three singles to be released shortly. They are very powerful and they also show a different side of Warrior King, I believe that the public will love them because they are words of wisdom and definitely positive and pleasing to the ear,” he said.
Like with most reggae artistes, Warrior King has been enjoying a fruitful international career since establishing himself, with his music crossing several musical barriers and has touched the hearts of music lovers across the world.
He credits his success to mercy of The Almighty God and prays that he’ll receive many more blessings and continue spreading the message through his music.
“It’s just Selassie I ordain it. Everything lies in his powers and I am pleased to have a strong following around the world. My message is always about love, equal rights and justice,” he said.
