Dancehall’s certified diva Tifa is tickled pink after receiving an amazing eight Youth View Award Nominations. The effervescent female deejay has been nominated in the category of Favorite Local Music Videos for Move Yuh Body and Certified Diva.
The spunky Diva also got the nomination nod for Favorite Female Artiste Dancehall and Favorite Female Artiste of the year 2010. The accolades just keep on coming as Tifa has also been nominated in the category of Favorite Music Collaboration for Certified Diva featuring Tami Chynn.
Known also for her eclectic fashion sense, it was no surprise that Tifa was also nominated as Favorite Fashion Icon Female as well as Young Hot and Hype Artiste of the Year female. Tifa’s eighth and final nomination came via the coveted Celebrity Role Model of the Year award.
When asked about her recent Youth View Awards nominations, the ‘spell it out’ recording artiste had this to say, “When I heard, I was ecstatic, surprised and in a state of disbelief. I am quite happy to be nominated once again.” Tifa was also nominated for five awards the previous year and came out victorious with three wins.
Tifa has also been dominating the radio airwaves with her latest track, Move Yu Body/Nah Stop Shine, as well as other songs by the diva are getting some serious rotation, such as NO Push Over , Semi Goodas and Good Up on ZJ Chrome’s dancehall efx riddim.
The dancehall diva had to let us know that she has a lot more in store for her fans for 2011. What people can expect from her are “more songs to be released, more videos, and a lot more singing, since my fans are requesting that.”
Ultimately, the impressive list of nominations is a testimony to the hard work and dedication displayed by the Certified Diva throughout the calendar year. 2010 was definitely a breakout year for the sing jay/songwriter who scored a collection of hits that demonstrated her range from “bruck out” dancehall to soulful social commentator. In addition to her solo success, Tifa has been hailed as a great collaborator who racked up hits with Tami Chynn, TNT, Stacious and Makieda.
Adding to a great year, Tifa signed on as brand spokesperson for telecommunications giants Digicel, making her image front and center island wide. In addition to that, the ‘Certified Diva’ is one of the Jamaican divas, endorsing the recently released Nuvo Sparkling Liqueur Brand within the Caribbean region.
The Youth View Awards show is geared towards the point of view of Jamaica’s teens and young adults who vote for their favorite personalities of the year in an array of categories. The 4th Annual YVA which will be hosted by DJ Bambino and BETS Rocsi from 106 and park will be held at the National Indoor Sports Center on Saturday February 5.
