February 24, 2011 - Kingston, Jamaica - Singer, Omari who recently released his new single, Jehovah Guide Me, produced by Romeich Records, this week recorded two new singles with dancehall artistes, Beenie Man and Versatile.
Omari who was widely known for his inspirational hit tracks, Help and Why, says the decision to do the collaborations with the two artistes was an easy one.
"As a gospel artiste who tends to do a lot of inspirational music, I don't see anything wrong with doing collabs with secular artistes once the music is uplifting and sending a great positive message. Moses (Beenie Man) called me to do a track with him and I was excited about it. My aim has always been to be a representative of God in a way that people can identify with, especially when they are feeling low. I make music to uplift and inspire," says Omari.
The single with Beenie Man which is called Love and Peace and the other with Versatile, In The Streets, are slated to be released in a few days. Omari whose correct name is Andrew Edwards was also nominated as 'Gospel Artiste Of The Year' in the year's EME Awards and is a previous award winner at the Marlin Awards (Bahamas) and IRAWMA awards (New York). Omari's debut album will be released in March.
