KINGSTON, JAMAICA - The entertainment scene should brace for yet another hit; this time courtesy of rapper, YC and dancehall artistes Chino McGregor and Busy Signal. The three recently released the official remix of the popular mainstream hit, Racks On Racks. Racks On Rackswhich currently holds the number 19 spot on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart is also a local favourite.
According to artiste, Chino McGregor who recently returned from a four week US promotional tour for his album Chino which was released in May, Racks On Racksalready seems to be a hit with fans.
"I included it in some of my sets after it was released, while on tour and the fans really loved it. It's a great club track with a crazy upbeat vibe and the fusion with YC, myself and Busy works well on the track," he said.
Chino says US disc jockey, Willy Daniels approached him with the idea of a remix soon after Racks On Racks was released; in no time, Daniels went on to close the deal with YC's camp for the Dancehall-Hip Hop remix. The single was remixed by Stephen "Di Genius" Mcgregor and Tropical Blendz.
The singer says, "I have no problems doing collaborations with mainstream artistes. Why not? Music shouldn't have boundaries. It exposes you to different fan-bases. Once I like the track and it makes sense, I don't see why not. I also have a couple more in the pipelines, so persons can look out for those and I'll be talking about them when everything is finalized."
So what's next for the singjay/songwriter? He says he will be shooting the video for Driving Me Insane featuring Denique on Sunday, July 17; focusing on pushing Seal The Link, which raked in a massive 150, 000 iTunes downloads/sales in it's first week of release; promoting Cyaa Do We Nutten on Di Genius' new Bad Acid riddim released last week and finalizing his summer and winter tours which begin the first week of August.
