Music Producer,Tony Kelly |
In a release to the media, Kelly outlined the idea behind the Winners rhythm project. “The whole idea was about crafting winnings out of different situations. Whether it is picking yourself up and showing everyone that you're better than they think; or you winning your release out of a bad situation; or making it known that you are a fine individual and can win any partner you choose,” Kelly explained.
Kelly enlisted the assistance of Shaggy, Wayne Wonder, Mr. Vegas, Notch, Cecile, Spice, Esco, Liquid, Trevor Off Key, Delly Ranks, and newcomers Malica and Wayne Anthony.
He explained how the artistes were selected for the project. “Choosing the artistes wasn't anything out of the ordinary really. I've been working closely with Shaggy, Malica, Wayne Anthony, Wayne Wonder, Mr. Vegas and Notch for quite a while now, so they're automatic when it comes to my projects. I’ve always wanted to work with Cecile. Spice has worked with my brother Dave so I know she is a good artiste. Esco, Liquid, Trever Off-Key and Delly Ranks have a couple of good songs out, so I could see their potential.”
The songs featured on the Winners rhythm include Neva You by Cecile, I’m a Winner by Delly Ranks, Big Up by Esco, She got a Walk by Liquid, On My Way by Malica, Not a Day by Mr. Vegas, Chat by Notch, Can You Make Me by Shaggy and Cecile, Keep it All by Spice and Wayne Anthony, I Wanna Know by Spice, She Say by Trevor Off Key, Good Life by Wayne Anthony, and Over All by Wayne Wonder.
The response from radio and the public has been tremendous so far. “The public’s response has been like they just received a breath of fresh air. Everyone has a favorite song from the project,” said Kelly.
One of the biggest names in production since the 1990’s, Tony Kelly has received numerous accolades during his prolific career. A Grammy winning and Billboard charting producer, he has effectively carved out an enviable niche among his musical peers.
The Bookshelf, Unda Wata, Kiki, Buyout, Grindin, Katana, and Hype rhythms are among the projects which have kept Kelly at the top of his game.
