Reggae artist Courtney Mellers is very upbeat about the success of his latest single that’s titled Sweet Jamaica. The song which was co-written by veteran Deejay Papa Biggy has brought a lot of attention for the Portland native who currently resides in Connecticut.
“Since I dropped this tune a few months ago it has been getting a very positive reaction from music lovers all over the world. It has also been getting some good rotation on reggae programs across the US, Europe and in Jamaica,” said the artist.
Courtney Mellers said that he is not surprised about the response Sweet Jamaica is getting as he knew that a lot of people would love the song from the first day he recorded it.
“Jamaica is a very popular place and a lot of people love it. Whether you are Jamaican or not once you know about Jamaica you just love the place. So I knew a lot of people would feel the message in Sweet Jamaica and I was right everywhere I perform it people love it.”
The smooth voice singer also said that he plans to capitalize on the attention the song has brought him by releasing a few more singles before the end of the year.
Coozi Mellers will be performing live with his Anthem band at an event called Reggae Salute 2011 on the 5th of November at the Nazareth Performance Center in Brooklyn, New York. Also on the bill for that event are Big Youth, I Wayne and Dubtoni Kru.
