Despite being pelted by heavy rains, the crowd at James Bond Beach for this year’s staging of Follow Di Arrow gave a warm welcome to rising singjay Shamari. The Out A Road artiste who was performing for a second time on the Jamaican stage, blessed the audience with a prayer before belting out his hit, Gangter’s Paradise, which had the crowd rocking.
Band challenges further tested the talent of Shamari but despite this he continued to sing his hit song while the rain poured down on the thousands at James Bond Beach. Shamari, who was called to the stage by Louie Culture and encouraged by Wickerman, held his own and proved to the audience that he is indeed a rising talent.
Shamari says the experience is an important one as it shows how an artiste has to be versatile and able to please the people in any weather: “To think that people actually stood there in the rain to listen to me sing is amazing.
I am humbled and appreciative of the support that the people showed to me at Follow the Arrow and profess to continue making positive and entertaining music".
Shamari is set to release the video for his latest single, Friends with Benefits, within the coming weeks and is also set to release several other tracks for the summer.
