WIZ Records taps into the past for this classic take on soca with the Vintage Riddim, available worldwide from all major digital retailers on March 11, 2014, with pre-order available on February 25, 2014, from FOX FUSE.
Producer Shawn “Mr. Roots” Mitchell pays homage to classic soca tunes with this retro composition, which introduces the new generation of soca fans to the roots of the genre.
Boasting five singles and the instrumental version, the Vintage Riddim takes us back with Tallpree on “Jab Jab Nation,” Benjai on “Come Out To Play,” Ricardo Drue on “Tun Tun,” Pupa Leendi on “We Like It,” Ajamu on “African Jumbie,” and the “Vintage Riddim” instrumental from Mr. Roots.
Grenada-born Mr. Roots has been steadily crafting his catalog by fusing native jab jab sounds into his groovy and up-tempo melodies, and now with his foray into the past, brings yet another style of music for soca lovers everywhere to enjoy.
