D’Angel Delivers Well Coordinated Set At Reggae Sumfest

D’Angel continues to show why she is a force to be reckoned with when she made her entrance on Sumfest - Dancehall Night over the weekend.

The Dancehall fashionista dressed in a gold and red ensemble courtesy of acclaimed designers Uzuri International took centerstage at 11:30pm following a commendable set from Ding Dong.

Despite the soggy grounds, that did very little to stop the thousands who came out to witness performances from some of the frontrunners in local entertainer and D’Angel like a true professional did not disappoint.

Opening with the upbeat numbers ‘Hot Gyal A Road’, ‘You Are My First’ and ‘Baby Daddy’, the latter two featuring her estranged husband Beenie Man and Vybz Kartel respectively. D’Angel quickly found favour with her audience and soon invited members of the Shady Squad dance group to join her on stage for ‘Come Over’ affording them the opportunity to showcase an array of spine bending dance moves. This was followed by the very inspirational ‘Stronger’ before delving into a medley of her other material from her growing catalogue.

At the end of her fifteen minutes the very tight and well co-ordinated set was well received and garnered her several nods of approval from the large gathering at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.

“It was a great show, my set was well executed and I accomplished my goal which was delivering a good performance” – D’Angel said. When asked what was different from her previous appearances she added “This year it was more about connecting with the audience and delivery and less about elaborate choreography and fanfare. I also want to laud the organisers for the high level of professionalism they bring annually to the staging of the festival”.

In early August, D’Angel is booked to appear on a number of events including Manchester Fiesta, Little Ochi Seafood Festival, Radio Jamaica (RJR) 60th Anniversary and Splashy Connection in Little London, Westmoreland.
