Isat On A Mission To Revive Reggae Music

Upcoming Reggae artiste Isat is on a mission to revive reggae music. He has a burning desire to see the genre become popular in Jamaica once again. The talented singer/song writer/musician, who is the son of legendary Jamaican artiste Big Youth, says he wants to see reggae rise to the top again locally and become an attractive brand to young Jamaicans.

He is appalled by the fact that reggae music is widely appreciated by music fans of all ages in Europe, the UK, Africa, Japan and other parts of the world, while at home reggae music is almost forgotten.

Isat says he will always sing and perform reggae in its authentic form. “Reggae is a music that conveys messages of love, spirituality and revolutionary thoughts, it’s the voice of the people and that’s what I want to represent”, said the artiste who is currently enjoying much attention on FM radio with his latest single titled Unbreakable.

Isat recently did his first major performance on local soil when he performed alongside Big Youth at Stur- Gav Sound-system’s tribute to the late Sugar Minott, the show was held on Saturday August 14th at Mas Camp. He recalls the experience as very memorable one as both him and his dad got a very positive response from the huge audience that was in attendance.
