Third World performed to over 7000 predominately French speaking patrons, yet when the band took the stage screams and cheers were heard throughout the venue. What was even more amazing was the fact that the audience sang along with the band for most of their 75 minute set which included hits such as Sense of Purpose, Forbidden Love, Committed, 96 Degrees, Try Jah Love, among others. Each song was ushered in by applause from the audience who stood to their feet and danced the night away.
The surprise of the night came when the band performed Reggae Ambassadors medley including Rumors and Front Door as a tribute to Gregory Isaacs, who recently passed away. Isaacs is featured on Third World's current album "Patriots." The album, which was released on August 10, 2010, also features Toots Hibbert, Marcia Griffiths, Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Dean Fraser, Inner Circle, Mykal Rose, Junior Reid, Capleton, Stephen & Damian Marley, Tarrus Riley and Tessanne Chin.
The energy filled set came to a close with a performance of Love Train. When they exited the stage the audience chanted their name, a clear sign that the performance was enjoyed by all.
Upcoming performances include, California: December 2nd Santa Rosa, December 3rd Garberville, December 4th San Diego and December 5th Oakland. On December 11, 2010, the band will perform at the 1st Annual Boom Tunz Festival in New Zealand alongside Ludacris, T-Pain and Kelly Rowland. January 29, 2011 at Love City Live in St. John, Virgin Islands and February 11, 2011 at the Palmyra Foundation Charity Event in Montego Bay, Jamaica on February 11, 2011.
