And the YGB winner is.... Nicole Duhaney aka Nikki Z!‏


The Young, Gifted & Black Entrepreneurial Awards held their yearly event recognizing and celebrating Young Black Professionals.Media personality and President & CEO of DNZ Productions Nicole Duhaney better known as Nikki Z was honored and received an Broadcast Communications Award.

Some of the distinguished recipient were Dr. Keneca Boyce, Senior Director of Program Development, Inwood House for Women in Business Award. Jeff Broom, Co-Founder, Making A Difference (M.A.D.) Team for Multi-Level Marketing Award and Gordon Chambers, Singer, Producer, & Grammy Award Songwriter

When asked what this honor mean to her, Nikki Z stated ""it was an honor to be nominated amongst so many accomplished individuals. To take home the broadcaster award showed me that I am on the right path. Being a young girl who came from the projects to being one of the top Caribbean Radio Personalities is something I dreamed of and I don't take it lightly.

I want to share with all races and cultures the music I was raised on, the music I saw make all my family functions lively, exciting and fun. Reggae and dancehall to me is more then a job. It's a way of life.. When the music hits you feel no pain. Those words have guided me throughout my career. I want to help take away the pain one listener at a time. "

Young, Black & Gifted association was founded in 2006 by Carl O. Gray, President and CEO, The NetLinkz Group, Inc., and Founder of Unified Network of Business Professional. YGB Awards program places an emphasis on individuals that continued to reach levels of success through hard work and determination. There isn’t a formal selection criterion to receive this award, rather than a peer-to-peer acknowledgment & appreciation of these individual’s drive for success outlined by where they have been in life to where they are now as ambassadors of the entrepreneurial spirit.

Nicole Duhaney aka Nikki Z contribution to radio began many years ago in the U.S but her name rose to fame in Jamaica where her soul resides, but she has brought the essence back to the States and besides hosting her syndicated radio show "World Caribbean Countdown" airing in 3 stations in Africa and across Caribbean and USA, as well as being the #1 Female DJ on the #1 Hip Hop station in CT Hot 93.7, she also is the entertainment reporter on BBC 1xtra. her DNZ Productions company along with Hapilos Entertainment is bringing "Lake Fest, Love within The Music" to the East Coast.
