Farmer Nappy Celebrates Carnival with New Album

'You Make Me...Surrender,' In Stores Today‏! Soca Star Receives Critical Acclaim from MTV and The New Yorker.

Trinidadian singer/songwriter Darryl "Farmer Nappy" Henry brings his unique brand of soca to the masses with his new album, You Make Me...Surrender, available in stores and online today, February 21, 2012. The album is already receiving critical acclaim, including favorable reviews from The New Yorker and MTV, which gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

"It's good to see international media outlets such as MTV and The New Yorker embracing and supporting Caribbean music," reveals Farmer Nappy. "This means we are another step closer to spreading the richness of our culture and music to the worldwide massive. And it couldn't happen at a better time, when Trinidad is celebrating Carnival."

Blending calypso, kaiso, ragga, soca, reggae and dancehall tones, Farmer manages to capture the true essence of the Caribbean, taking this compilation beyond carnival circles.

"If you don't know your kaiso from your ragga, or your soca from your calypso, don't be concerned. Farmer Nappy hits them all, along with a bit of reggae and dancehall." - The New Yorker

"The veteran musician has put together an album of super-concentrated soca with a global pop sensibility and pan-Caribbean flavors." - MTV

Farmer Nappy cultivated a global fan base by touring extensively for over two decades and bringing the sounds of mas to the masses worldwide. He just performed over 30 shows during Carnival season in Trinidad. With his new album being embraced by fans and critics alike, Farmer Nappy is undoubtedly having his best year yet as he continues his quest of carrying Caribbean music around the world.

You Make Me...Surrender is distributed by FOX FUSE, with physical albums in select stores throughout the U.S. and Trinidad, and is now available digitally worldwide on all major digital retailers, including iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and Spotify.
