Dub Spencer & Trance Hill 'Riding Strange Horses'

"Strange Riding Horses" is the third album from the cowboys in space, he sees the four musicians breeding Switzerland attracted throngs together a series of strange steeds and then mounted in the tradition of the rodeo.

The "Strange Horses" come from famous stables (Falco, The Clash, Genesis, Deep Purple, The Catch, M, Tullio De Piscopo, Grauzone, etc.) and obtained multiple titles in the Top Ten for thirty years.

It's caustic humor that dominates the choice of music: Pop monumental classics, ballads with rose water and hits Rock filthy, everything has been made our dreams of youth. The tracklisting is strong classical school holidays and worship hits revisited ...

All the best styles in Dub! Dub Spencer & Trance Hill have clearly a relationship of love and hate relationship with the original versions supported by some secret admiration. With their usual microscopic attention to detail they shape their own versions, using incredible consistency with their unique magic on each title. The result is an eloquent answer to the debate on the authenticity that has raged on the European scene Reggae.

The goal was to keep the song as authentic as possible, the group contacted thus assigns. Their version of the tube The Catch "25 Years" (1984) retains the original voice of John Savannah.

On the classic Soul Reggae "When I Fall In Love", they brought back the master and composer Ken Booth and the New Wave hit "Echo Beach" and "Pop Muzik" Martha Johnson of Toronto and Robin Scott of London réenregistrèrent their voices .

Naturally, this would not have had the same flavor without the master of Dub Lee "Scratch" Perry, his inimitable voice gives new life to his own manifesto "Blackboard Jungle". William White, one of the most votes Soul Switzerland ready to play and gives voice to the classic Deep Purple "Smoke On The Water".

The album also contains a veritable song-scandal "even if it happened a few years ago: in spring 2008, Dub Spencer & Trance Hill posted themselves their version of" Jeanny "on the Internet to mark the anniversary Falco's death. At the time, the original had been banned from German television after a week of protest. Austrian radio station FM4 discovered the new version and release.

This album is a collection of familiar old hits down to their essence and reinterpreted to be reborn in new versions brought in turn become classics of the genre.
