Third World Band to Perform at Gwadloup Festival


New York, NY (November 19, 2010): Third World Band has been touring since January 2010 with performances in Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and the United States. They will round out the year with a bang with performances in Guadaloupe and New Zealand. Their first stop with be at the 3rd Annual Gwadloup Festival on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Parc Jarry in Guadeloupe.

The third edition of the regional festival of Caribbean music "the Gwadloup" festival Region began on Friday, November 12, 2010 and will end on Sunday, November 21, 2010. The festival caters to everyone and attracts both residents and visitors to Guadeloupe Island. This year the main scenes take place at Parc Jarry activities and the Place de la Victoire.

On the final day the concert will be held in the village of animation of the Route du Rhum-La Banque Postale 2010. Cat Coore remarks, "it will be great to return to Guadaloupe. We performed there a few times but it has been a while. It is a remarkably beautiful French island and we are always well received. We look forward to performing at the Gwadloup Festival."

On August 10, 2010, Third World released their 23rd album, Patriots. The album features a unique collaboration with Gregory Isaacs on his single "Front Door." Other appearances include Toots Hibbert, Marcia Griffiths, Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Dean Fraser, Inner Circle, Mykal Rose, Junior Reid, Capleton, Stephen & Damian Marley, Tarrus Riley and Tessanne Chin.

Prior to the release of the album, the band released singles, "Spirit Lives," a dedication to the people of Haiti and "By My Side" featuring Tessanne Chin. The video for By My Side, which was directed by Adrian Allen, features Robert Townsend's popular online series "Diary of a Single Mom" (now in its third season) starring Monica Calhoun, Valery Ortiz, Janice Lynde, Richard Roundtree, Billy Dee Williams and Leon, was also released.

On December 11, 2010, the band will perform at the 1st Annual Boom Tunz Festival in New Zealand alongside Ludacris, T-Pain and Kelly Rowland, Love City Live in St. John, Virgin Islands on January 29, 2011 and Palmyra Foundation Charity Event in Montego Bay, Jamaica on February 11, 2011.
