Upcoming reggae artiste Isat Buchanan, son of reggae legend Big Youth, has come out to express his delight about his father’s latest musical recognition, which comes on the back of decades of positive contribution to the Jamaican music industry.
Big Youth, widely recognized as one of the first reggae artistes to profess his Rastafarian beliefs through his music, received the Congressional Proclamation from the United States Congress for his contribution to reggae music.
However Isat, whose getting ready to release the video for his single Unbreakable, believes his father’s latest accolade is only a result of his hard over the decades.
“The award which my father has received shows me that if you really put in the hard work, in what you are doing you will reap your rewards. How am I feeling right now? Words can’t explain all I can say is that I feel very proud of my dad,” he said.
The soothing reggae singer also said that the public can expect his video, which was directed by him, to be release shortly as it is currently being edited for release.
“The video is being edited as we speak… I directed it and the public can expect something wonderful. Looking back at everything, including disappointments encountered during the making of this music video, it worked out for the best,” he said.
The singer said he’s currently in studios working on some new releases, which will be ready for the public before year end.
