Precision Productions Presents the Fiery Soufriere Riddim‏

There is a beautiful imaginative splendor in the music of our Caribbean people, one that inspires the Precision Productions team to continually create beyond expectations.

This fervent arousal always leads to the team taking the lesser-traveled path and making tuneful forays into what is for them, virgin musical territory.

For 2012, St. Lucia’s Carnival finally provides the perfect chance for Precision to passionately delve into the ingenious French island genre of Zouk, whose energetic allure has long called to their artistic ear.

So with a harmonic blend of tremendous island spice, alongside the essence of Zouk, enveloped amid the brassy soul of Soca, we present the Soufrière Riddim to the world.

Precision sets off on this melodic expedition, with an inventive and inspired crew of writers and performers who have all worked together to create a memorable musical adventure.

Destra Garcia reaffirms her place as the Caribbean’s beloved bad girl in her vocally exhilarating performance of “Carry On”, while showing off her writing skills together with Mical “Teja” Williams and Kasey Phillips in this lyrical declaration of pure gyrating fun.

In “Gone Clear” Teddyson “TJ” John uses his exciting singing talent to tell the tale of the intense emotions that colour the Carnival canvas every single year. The energetically thrilling song was written by TJ himself, Patrick “Mista Vybe” Gordon, as well as Kasey Phillips and is a delectable invitation to enjoyment that no masquerader could deny.

“D Wetter D Better” is sure to be a favourite of those with a more wicked imagination. This cheeky number was cleverly penned by Patrick “Mista Vybe” Gordon and Kasey Phillips. The mischievous feel of the track is flawlessly executed by Wenhal “Alpha” Gerald who tantalizes listeners with a vibrant salute to the art of plumbing.

Communication between generations is at times a difficult challenge, however, in true majestic style Kenny Phillips skillfully collaborates with Kasey Phillips in a father-son composition designed to drive brass aficionados absolutely wild. Aptly named “Brass Fuh Spite” the tune is played by KP & The Sunshine Band, and showcases why the Phillips household will forever remain a foundational member of the Caribbean’s musical landscape.
